PHIL M. BROWN FOR SERVICE AS MEMBER OF CIVIL SERVICE
BOARD
WHEREAS, at the General Election held November 16, 1937,
Ordinance No. 1056 was adopted by the vote of the people of Santa
Ana, California establishing, among other things, a Civil Service
Board; and
WHEREAS, PHIL M. BROWN was one of the first Board members
and has continuously served on said Board, now called the Per-
sonnel Board, until this date when reasons of personal health re-
quired his resignation; and
WHEREAS, PHIL M. BROWN has given freely of his time in the
interest of the establishment, maintenance and operation of the
Civil Service System in the City of Santa Ana, California, without
compensation and solely as the performance of a civic duty, for a
period of nearly 18 years;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Council of the
City of Santa Aha adopts this Resolution as au expression of
thanks from the employees and the other citizens of the City of
Santa Aha, California, and personally commend PHIL M. BROWN for
his interest and continuous effort in his own local government
and his contribution to the welfare of this community.
