TO CITY OF SANTA ANA OF THAT CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY
DESCRIBED HEREIN AND DESIGNATED "FREE~AY ANNEX", AND GIVING
NOTICE OF TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING OF PROTESTS THERETO
WHEREAS, the Boundary Commission of Orange County, California
has approved the description of certain real property as herein set
out for the purpose of annexation and the Planning Commission of Santa
Aha has approved the annexation of said territory; and
WHEREAS, the owners of said real property have filed a petition
with the Clerk of the Council, requesting that the City of Santa Ana,
California annex said real property, stating that the same is uninhab-
ited, consenting in writing that said real property may be taxed to pay
any indebtedness or liability of said City contracted prior to such
annexation;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the
City of Santa Ana hereby declares its intention to annex all of said
territory under the provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Ter-
rltory Act of 1939 and finds and hereby declares that said territory
is deemed uninhabited since it had less than 12 registered voters
residing in it on June 20 , 1955, the date when said petition was
filed, that said territory is contiguous to the City of Santa Ana,
California, lies in the County of Orange, and is described as:
That certain portion of the Potts, Borden and Sidwell
Tract recorded in Book 4, Page 624, of Miscellaneous Rec-
ords of Los Angeles County, State of California, described
as follows:
Beginning at the Northeast Corner of Tract 1939, as shown
on a map recorded in Book 65, Pages 10, ll and 12 of Miscel-
laneous Maps in the Office of the Recorder of the County of
Orange, said point being also an angle point In the boundary
line of the City of Santa Ana; thence S 89° 59' 40'' W,
1,259.87 feet along the Northerly boundary line of said Tract
1939 and the Northerly boundary line of the City of Santa Ana
to the Southwest Corner of Lot 19 of said Potts, Borden and
Sidwell Tract; thence leaving said boundary line of the City
of Santa Ana, S 89° 55' 20" W, 862.62 feet to the Southwest
Corner of Lot 20 of said Potts, Borden and Sidwell Tract;
thence N 10° 44' 27" E, 673.94 feet along the Westerly line
of Lot 20 to an angle point, said angle point being also the
common corner of Lots 20, 22 and 29 of said Potts, Borden and
Stdwell Tract; thence N 00° 54' 56" W, 389.57 feet along the
Easterly boundary of the Orange County Flood Control District
right-of-way as described in Book 965, Page 566, of Official
Records of Orange County; thence continuing Northeasterly along
said right-of-way along a curve concave Southeasterly and having
a radius of 1,942.00 feet and central angle of 16° 01' 30",
543.16 feet to a point of tangency to said curve; thence con-
tinuing on said right-of-way, N 39° 5~, 40" E, 307.2~ feet to
a point on the Southwesterly right-of-way line of th8 Southern
Pacific Railroad Company's right-of-way; thence S ~l 02, 00"
E, 1,43~.99 feet along said Southwesterly right-of-way line to
the Southeast Corner of Lot 22 of said Potts, Borden and Sidwell
Tract; thence continuing S 41° o2, 00" E, 879.20 feet along said
Southwesterly right-of-way line to the point of beginning.
All bearings and distances as shown on a Record of Survey
filed in Book 29 Page 24 of Records of Survey, County of Orange.
That said Council hereby designated "FREEWAY ANNEX" as an appro-
priate name for said annexation.
That said Council hereby declares its intention to and it will
annex said territory to and include it within the Santa Ana Elemen-
tary School District, Santa Ana High School District and Santa Ana
Junior College District and upon the completion of said annexation,
said territory shall be and become a part of said School Districts.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that August l, 19~ at the hour of
?:30 P. N. in the Council Chambers in the City Hall at Third and Main
Streets, in the City of Santa Ana, California, is the time and place
fixed at which said Council will hear protests made by any person
owning real property within said territory so proposed to be annexed.
At any time before said hour, any owner of any of said property may
file written protest against this proposed annexation. Such protest
should state the name of the owner and a description and area of the
property in the general terma.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana
at its regular meeting held on the 20th day of June , 19~.
