HomeMy WebLinkAbout55-207RESOLUTION NO. 55-207 GIVING NOTICE OF PROPOSED A~EXATION TO CITY OF SANTA AhA OF THAT CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESCRIBED i~EREIN AlfD DESIGNATED ~INDUSTRIAL A~NEX", A£~D GIVING NOTICE OF TL~3 A~ID PLACE FOR HEARING OF PROTESTS THEF~ETO WHEREAS, the Boundary Commission of Orange County, California, has approved the description of certain real property as herein set out for the purpose of an- nexation aa d the Planning Commission of Santa Arm has approved the annexation of said territory; and WHEREAS, the owners of said real property have filed a petition with the Clerk of the Council, requesting that the City of Santa Ana, California, annex said real property, stating that the same is uninhabited, consenting in writing that said real property may be taxed to pay any indebtedness or liability of said City contracted prior to such annexation; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby declares its intention to annex all of said territory under the pro- visions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939 and finds and hereby declares that said territory is deemed uninhabited since it had less than 12 registered voters residing in it on July 7, 1955, the date when said petition was filed, that said territory is contiguous to the City of Santa Aha, California, lies in the County of Orange, and is described as: Beginning at the intersection of the Westerly line of Standard Avenue, 60.00 feet in width, as described in a deed to Orange County, California, and recorded October 22nd, 1930, in Book h23, page 368 of Official Records, with the South line of Section 18, Township 5 South, Range 9 West, S.B.B. & M., thence Easterly along the South line of said Section 18, and along the boundary line of the City of Santa Ana to the common corners of Sections l?, 18, 19~ and 20, Township 5 South, Range 9 West, S.B.B. & M., thence South along the West line of said Section 20, 5 chains; thence Easterly along the boundary of the City of Santa Ana to an angle point in said boundary line, thence Southerly a distance of ~930.OO feet more or less to a point on the North line of Delhi Road ~0.00 feet in width, said point being a distance of 266.9h feet, more or less, Westerly measured along said North line of Delhi Road from the Center li~m of Ne%~ort Avenue, said Newport Avenue being 60.00 feet in width, thence Westerly along the Northerly line of said Delhi Road 1592.00 feet, more or less, to the Easterly line of McClay Street, said line being a distance of 25.00 feet measured at right angles East from the center line of said McClay Street, thence Northerly along the Easterly line of said McClay Street lO.C0 feet, more or less, to the Easterly prolongation of the Northerly line of Delhi Road, thence Westerly along the Northerly line of said Delhi Road and its Easterly prolongation a distance of 622.25 feet more or less to the Easterly line of land described in a deed to Union Iron & Steel Co., a partnership, recorded January l~th, 1952 in Book 2273, page ~6~ of O~ficial Records of Orange County, California, thence Northerly along the Easterly line of said land of Union Iron & Steel Co. a distance of 699.3 feet more or less to the Southerly line of Tract No. 68~, as shown on a Map recorded in Book 20, page 20 of Miscellaneous Maps, records of Orange County, CaLifo~wia, thence North 89° 19' 15" West 597.3 feet more or less to the Easterly line of the Southern Pacific Railroad right of w~¥, thence Northerly along the East line of said Hight of Way 2373.32 feet more or less to the Easterly prolongation of the North line of Bloc~ C of Tract No. 696, as shown on a Map recorded in Book 20, pages 4~ and 46 of Miscel- laneous Maps, records of Orange County, California, thence Westerly along the North line of said Block C and its Westerly prolongation to the West- erly line of Standard Avenue, 80.00 feet, in width as shown on said Map of Tract No. 696, thence Northerly along said Westerly line of Standard Avenue 224.~4 feet more or less to the North line of said Tract No. 696, thence North 89° 14' 15" East along the North line of said Tract No. 696 a distance of lO.O0 feet more or less, thence NortEerly along the Wester- ly line of said Standard Avenue 60.00 feet in ~_dth to the point of be- ginning. That said Council hereby designates "INDUSTRIAL ANNEX" as an appropriate name for said annexation. That said Council hereby declares its intention to and it will annex said terri- tory to and include it wit~hin the Santa Ana Elementary School District, Santa Aha High School District and Santa Ana Junior College District and upon the completion of said annexation, said territory shall be and become a part of said School Dis- tricts. N~ICE IS HEREBY G~ that September 6, 19~5'at the hour of 7:30 P. M. in the Council Chambers in the City Hall at Third and Main Streets, in the City of Santa Ana, California, is the time and place fixed at which said Council will hear protests mede by any person owning real property v~ithin said territory so proposed to be annexed. At any time before said hour, any owner of any of said property may file written pro- test against this proposed annexation. Such protest should state the owner's name and, in general terms, a description and~rea of the property owned.
