NORTHERLY AND '~ESTERLY OF THE CITY OF SAN~A AI~A MIGHT LOGI-
CALLY BE EXPECTED TO ANNEX TO SAID CITY
~tEREAS, it has come to the attention of the City Council of
the City of Santa Ana that the City of Orange is now carryir~ on
proceedings for the annexation of certain territory lying North-
westerly of and contiguous to the City of Santa Ana; and
~HEREAS, said City Council has been requested to re-affir~u its
interest in and willingness to consider annexation of said territory
and other territories in the vicinity referred to;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the
City of Santa Ana does hereby declare that, after study, it has de-
termined that the area bounded by Katella Avenue on the North,
Harbor Boulevard and West Street on the West, the Santa Ana River
and the Santa Ana Freeway on the East, is a portion of the area im-
mediately surrounding the City of Santa Ana that may reasonably and
logically be expected to presently have, or develop in the near fu-
ture, a desire to annex to the

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED:

expresses its interest in and willingness to consider requests and
petitions for annexation of said area or parts thereof;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the reasons for th is expression
are as follows:
(a) That Santa Ana is the logical and present shopping center
of said area and has a unity of interest therewith;
(b) That Santa Aha is the City best able to give municipal
services to said area because of its geographical location and its
well developed facilities for the rendering of public services, its
equipment and staff of trained personnel;
(c) That Santa Ana can furnish services of the highest type
to said area, more economically and efficiently; and
(d) That such area would have more and superior municipal
services of every kind, and at a lower cost, as a result of annex-
ation to Santa Ana, California.

Ana at its regular meeting held on the l~th day of August, 19~.
