BACK LINES ON BOTH SIDES OF EAST FIRST STREET BETWEEN THE A.T.
& S.F. RAILROAD TRACKS AND GRAND AVENUE AND ABOLISHING SETBACE
LINES HERETOFORE FIXED BETWEEN GRAND AVENUE Al~O THE EASTERLY
CITY LIMITS
WHEREA~, upon the recommendation of the Department of Public
Works and study of the area, there appears to be need for the estab-
lishment of setback lines as hereinbelow set out and no further re-
quirement for the maintenance of setback lines on East First Street
between Grand Avenue and the Easterly City Limits;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the
City of Santa Ana hereby declares its intention to continue, re-
establish, and modify setback lines as provided for in Sections 9155
through 9158 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code as follows:
East First Street on the North side from the A.T. &
S.F. railroad tracks to Hathaway Street, 42 feet from the
surveyed center line; from Hathaway Street to Grand Ave-
nue, 34 feet from the surveyed center line; and on the
South side from the A.T. & S.F. railroad tracks to Hathaway
Street, 50 feet from the surveyed center line; all dis-
tances measured at right angles to said surveyed center line.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That 7:30 o'clock P.M. on the 3rd day
of January, 1956 in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, Third and
Main Streets, Santa Ana, California is hereby established as the
time and place when all persons having any objection to the continua-
tion, re-establishment and/or modification of said proposed setback
lines, may appear and be heard.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the Clerk of the Council is hereby
directed to give notice by publishing a copy of this Resolution in the
Santa Ana Independent and the Engineer's Office is directed to post
one copy of this Resolution, conspicuously on said Street, in front
of each block or part thereof, where said setback line is herein pro-
posed to be continued, re-established or modified. Both publication
and posting shall be made at least l0 days before the time of said
hearing.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of S~unta Aha at
its regular meeting held on the ~th day of December, 1955.
