TO THE CITY OF SANTA ANA OF THAT CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY
DESCRIBED HEREIN AND DESIGNATED "EIGHTH AT KING ANNEX" AND
GIVING NOTICE OF TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING OF PROTESTS THERETO
WHEREAS, the Boundary Commission of Orange County, California
has approved the description of certain real property as herein set
out for the purpose of annexation and the Planning Commission of
Santa Ana has approved the annexation of said territory; and
WHEREAS, the owners of said real property have filed a~petition
with the Clerk of the Council, requesting that the City of Santa Aha,
California annex said real property, stating that the same is unin-
habited, consenting in writing that said real property may be taxed
to pay any indebtedness or liability of said City contracted prior to
such annexation;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the
City of Santa Ana hereby declares its intention to annex all of said
territory under the provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Ter-
ritory Act of 1939 and finds and hereby declares that said territory
is deemed uninhabited since it had less than 12 registered voters re-
siding in it on February 3, 1956, the date when said petition was
filed, that said territory is contiguous to the City of Santa Aha,
California, lies in the County of Orange, and is described as:
That certain portion of Lots 6, 7, 8 and 9 of Lands of
S. H. Finley as shown on a Licensed Surveyor's Map filed in
Book 2 Page 9 of Record of Surveys, records of the County of
Orange, State of California, Lots 3 and 4 of Tract No. 19, as
shown on a map of said Tract No. 19 recorded in Book 9 Page 23
of Miscellaneous Maps, records of said County and that Portion
of the West Half of the Southeast quarter of Section 10, Township
5 South, Range 10 West, San Bernardino Base & Meridian, lying
Southeasterly of the Right-of-Way of the Newbert Protection Dis-
trict established by deed recorded in Book 210, Page 152 of
Deeds, records of said County, more particularly described as
follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the center lines of King
Street and ~th Street as shown on a licensed Surveyor's Map
filed in Book 22, Page 37 of Record of Surveys, Records of
Orange County; thence North 27° 30' 00" East 956.59 feet along
said center line of King Street and along the City boundary line
to an angle point in said boundary line; thence North 62° 30'
West 291.99 feet to the Northwesterly line of said Lot 9 and to
an angle point in said City boundary; thence North 27° 30' 39"
East 77.22 feet along said Northwesterly line of lot 9 and said
City boundary to the Northeast corner of said Lot 3; thence
South 89° 37' 34" West 588.13 feet to the Southeasterly Right-of-
Way line described in said deed recorded in Book 210, Page 152 of
Deeds, Records of said County; thence South 34° 29' 2~" West along
said Right-of-Way line 347.94 feet to the beginning of a tangent
curve concave to the Southeast and having a radius of 11,459.1b
feet; thence Southwesterly along said curve 415.17 feet to the
point of intersection of said curve with the South lin~ of said
Lot 4, a radial line through said point bears North 57 35' 09"
West; thence North 89° 38' 35" East, along said South line,
684.47 feet to the Southeast corner of said Lot4; thence South
27° 3? 39" West 333780 feet along the Northwesterly line of said
Lot 7, thence South b2° 30' West 291.99 feet to the center line of
said King S~reet; thence North 27° 30' East 13.41 feet along said
center line of King Street and along said City boundary to the
point of beginning.
All bearings and distances are as shown on licensed Surveyor's
Map~filed in Book 30, Page ~3, and Book 27, Page 25, Record of
Survey in the Office of the County Recorder of Orange County,
California.
That said Council hereby designates "EIGHTH AT KING ANNEX" as
an appropriate name for said annexation.
That said Council hereby dec~ares its intention to and it will
annex said territory to and include it within the Santa Ana Elementary
School District, Santa Ana High School District and Santa Aha Junior
College District and upon the completion of said annexation, said ter-
ritory shall be and become a part of said School Districts.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that April 16, 1956 at the hour of 7:30
P. M. in the Council Chambers in the City Hall at Third and Main
Streets, in the City of Santa Arm, California, is the time and place
fixed at which said Council will hear protests made by any person
owning real property within said territory so proposed to be annexed.
At any time before said hour, any owner of any of said property may
file written protest against this proposed annexation. Such protest
should state the owner's name and, in general terms,
and area of the property owned.
