RESOLUTION NO. 56-38 GRANTING VARIA~CE ON APPLICATION NO. 734
WHERE PLANNING COMMISSION RE00NMENDED DENIAL
WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 928 the Planning Commission, after
due hearing, recommended that a variance as requested by Application
No. 734, be denied; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of S~ta Ana, after con-
sideration of all the facts, disagreed with the denial of said var-
lance;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the
City of Santa Ana hereby grants a variance to affect the property
described as: Lot 1, McIlwain's Sub. of Block "E" ~of Goepper's
Addition to Santa Aha, per M.M. 4-76 O.C., the street number of which
property is ll4 West Eighteenth Street, Santa Aha, California to allow
the establishment and operation of a parking lot in connection with a
business and professional building to be built immediately South of
said property and facing Seventeenth Street subject to the following
conditions:
1. That applicant construct a concrete block masonry wall in
accordance with application;
2. That applicant replace broken curb and sidewalk as recom-
mended by Department of Public Works;
3- That there will be no lighting on said parking lot.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the City Council finds special
circumstances do here exist and conditions apply to this property that
do not apply to other property in the immediate neighborhood; in that,
subject property is adjacent to property zoned C-1 District on the South
and East and is bounded on the South and East by alleys; that subject
property is due West of a parking lot and other property in the area is
permitted parking use and that no damage will result from this parking
use, to other property in the area.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana
at its regular meeting held on the 20th day of February, 1956.
