THE CITY OF SANTA ANA (iF THAT CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY
DESCRIBED HEREIN AND DESIGNATED "NORTH OF HARVARD ANNEX" AND
GIVING NOTICE OF TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING OF PROTESTS
THERETO
WItEREAS, the Boundary Commission of Orange County, California
has approved the description of certain real p~operty as herein set
out for the purpose of annexation and the Planning Commission of Santa
Ana has approved the annexation of said territory; and
WHE~M~AS, the owners of said real property have filed a petition
with the Clerk of the Council, requesting that the City of Santa Ara
annex said real property, stating that the same is uninhabited, con-
senting in writing that said real property may be taxed to pay any
indebtedness or liability of said City contracted prior to such an-
nexation;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the
City of Santa Ana hereby declares its intention to annex all of said
territory under the provisions of the Amnexation of Uninhabited Terri-
tory Act of 1939 and finds and hereby declares that said territory is
deemed uninhabited since it had less than 12 registered voters
siding in it on February 20, 1956, the date when said petition was
filed, that said territory is contiguous to the City of Santa Ana,
California, lies in the County of Orange, and is described as:
Beginning at the Northwest corner of Tract No. 2487, as shown
on a map thereof, recorded in Book 80, Pages 47, 48 and 49 of Mis-
cellaneous Maps, records of Orange County, State of California,
said point of beginning being an angle point in the c~ty boundary
of the City of Santa Ana, California; thence South 15~ 05' 40" West
1162.36 feet along said city boundary line to an angle point in said
boundary; thence North 89u 04, 13" East 770.45 feet along said city
boundary to an angle point in sai~ boundary and to the West line of
01d Newport Road; thence South 15v 05' 40" West 204.26 feet along
said city boundary and along the West line and its extension of said
01d Newport Road to the South line of Harvard Street; thence South
89° 40' 00" West 1900.~2 feet along said South line of Rarvard
Street; thence North 0 30' 00" West 208.05 feet; thence North 15°
47' 53" East 2513.10 feet to a point on the arc of a curve concave
Southwesterly having a radius of 970.00 feet, a radial line through
said point bearing North ll° ll' 15" East, said curve being on the
Southerly property line of Edinger Street, as described in Book 2115
Page 392 of Official Records of Orange County, thence Southeasterly
along said curve to its point of intersection with the Southerly
line of Edinger Street as shown on a map of Tract No. 1024 recorded
in Book 33, Page 33 Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange County;
thence Southeasterly and Easterly along said South line of Edinger
Street as shown on said map of Tract No. 1024 to a point on the
arc of a curve concave Northeasterly having a radius of 1030 feet,
said curve being on the Southerly property line of Edlnger Street
as described in said Book 2115 Page 392 of Official Records; thence
Southeasterly along said curve to a tangent line which bears North
89° 30' East; thence North 89° 30' East along said tangent line
which is parallel with, and 30.00 feet Southerly, measured at
right angles, from the center llne of Edinger Street, 364.99 feet
to the West line of Tract No. 506, as shown on a map thereof,
corded in Book 17, Pages 26 and 2?, Miscellaneous Maps, Records of
Orange County; thence South 15° 16' 40" West 1299.?~ feet along
said West line of Tract No. ~06 to the Southwest corner of Tract
~06; thence North ~ 06' 40" East 391.00 feet along the South line
of said Tract No. to the point of beginning.
Some bearings and distances as shown on a licensed Surveyor's
map filed in Book 30 at Page 21, Record of Survey in the Office of
the County Recorder of Orange County, California.
That said Council hereby designates "NORTH OF HARVARD ANNEX"
as an appropriate name for said annexation.
That said Council hereby declares its intention to and it will
annex said territory to and include it within the Santa Ana Elementary
School District, Santa Ana High School District and Santa Ana Junior
College District and upon the completion of said annexation, said ter-
ritory shall be and become a part of said School Districts.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that May 7, 1956 at the hour of 7:30 P.M.
in the Council Chambers in the City Hall at Third and Main Streets,
in the City of Santa Ana, California, is the time and place fixed at
which said Council will hear protests made by any person owning real
property within said territory so proposed to be annexed. At any time
before said hour, any owner of any of said property may file written
protest against this proposed annexation. Such protest should state
the owner's name and, in general terms, a description and area of the
property owned.
