TO THE CITY OF SANTA ANA OF THAT CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRI-
TORY DESCRIBED ~IN AND DESIGNATED "BULLOCK'S ANNEX",
INITIATED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, AND
GIVING NOTICE 0P TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING OF PROTESTS THERETO
WHEREAS, the Boundary Commission of Orange County, California
has approved the description of certain real property as herein set
out for the purpose of annexation and the Planning Commission of
Santa And has approved the annexation of said territory; and
~REAS, the City Council, after study, has determined that
the territory hereinbelow described should be annexed to the City of
Santa Ana and that the proceedings should be initiated by the City
Council;
NOW, ~EREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the
City of Santa Ana hereby declares its intention to annex all of said
territory under the provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Ter-
ritory Act of 1939 and finds and hereby declares that said territory
is deemed uninhabited since it had less than 12 registered voters re-
siding in it on February 27, 1956, the date when this Resolution is
adopted, that said territory is contiguous to the City of Santa Ana,
California, lies in the County of Orange, and is described as:
Beginning at the Southwest corner of the 43rd Annex of
the City of Orange, as shown on Instr~unent Number 6764 filed
with the Office of the County Recorder on January 20, 1955,
County of Orange, State of California; thence South~erly along
the Southerly extension of the Westerly line of said 43rd Annex
to its intersection with the Northerly Santa Ana City limits
line as established by the City of Santa Ana Ordinance Number
907, called the "West of Orange Road Addition", passed on De-
cember 30, 1929; thence Easterly along said City of Santa Ana
boundary to its intersection with the West line of North Main
Street; thence Northerly along said West line of North Main
Street to its intersection with the South line of said 43rd
Annex of the City of Orange; thence Westerly along said South
line of said 43rd Annex to the point of beginning.
That said Council hereby designates "BULLOCK'S ANNEX" as an
appropriate name for said annexation.
That said Council hereby declares its intention to and it will
annex said territory to and include it within the Santa Ana Elementary
School District, Santa Ana High School District and Santa Ana Junior
College District and upon the completion of said annexation, said
territory shall be and become a part of said School Districts.
That the City Council hereby declares that the proceedings
for the annexation of said territory have been and are initiated by
the City Council of the City of Santa Ana and that the reasons for
desiring the annexation of said territory are as Follows:
That BULLOCK'S have acquired options to purchase considerable
acreage on the West side of North Main Street, North of Roe Drive;
that the area, the City Council has been informed, covered by such
option includes both sides of West Orange Road, extending to the West
thereo£ to a considerable distance South of said Orange Road and
Northerly along Main Street to the Southerly boundary of the City of
0~ange and includes the territory herein proposed to be annexed; that
the beneficial owner of said options has requested that said territory
be annexed to the City of Santa Ana so that the same may be used in
conjunction with the area presently within the City of Santa Ana.
NOTICE IS ~REBY GIVEN that May 7, 1956 at the hour of ?:30 P.M.
in the Council Chambers in the City Hall at Third and Main Streets,
in the City of Santa Aha, California, is the time and place fixed at
which said Council will hear protests made by any person owning real
property within said territory so proposed to be annexed. At any time
before said hour, any owner of any of said property may file written
protest against this proposed annexation. Such protest should state
the owner's name, and in general terms, a description and area of the
property owned.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Ana at its adjourned regular meeting held on the 2?thday of Feb~ary,
1956.
