HomeMy WebLinkAbout56-070 RESOLUTION NO. ~6-?0 GIVING NOTICE OF PROPOSED ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF SANTA ANA OF THAT CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRI- TORY DESCRIBED HEREIN AND DESIGNATED "CRODDYLAND ANNEX NO. l", AND GIVING NOTICE OF TI~E ~ND PLACE FOR HEARING OF PROTESTS THERETO WHEREAS, the Boundary Commission of Orange County, California has approved the description of certain real property as herein set out for the purpose of annexation and the Planning Commission of Santa Aha has approved the annexation of said territory; and '~tEREAS, the owners of said real property have filed a petition with the Clerk of the Council, requesting that the City of Santa Ana, California annex said real property, stating that the same is uninhab- ited, consenting in writing that said real property may be taxed to pay any indebtedness or liability of said City contracted prior to such an- nexat i on; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby declares its intention to annex all of said terri- tory under the provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939 and finds and hereby declares that said territory is deemed uninhabited since it had less than 12 registered voters residing in it on March 5, 1956, the date when said petition was filed, that said territory is contiguous to the City of Santa Ana, California, lies in the County of Orange, and is described as: Beginning at the Northeast corner of Lot 10, of Block "k" of Tract No. 507, as shown on a map recorded in Book 20, at pages ll and 12 of Miscellaneous Maps, recore~s of Orange County, California, said corner being the Southwest csrner of Harvard Street and Greenville Street, thence South 15 05' 40" West along the Southeasterly line of said Lot 10, and along the Santa Ana City Boundary line, 355.53 feet to the Southeast corner of said Lot 10; thence South 88° 42' 2o" West along the South line of said Tract No. 507, 2040.03 feet to the Southwest corner of Lot 7, of Block "K", of said Tract No. 507; thence South 89° 40' 00" West, parallel with the North line of Lot 6, of Tract No. 1024, as shown on a map recorded in Book 33, at page 33 of Miscellaneous Maps, records of said Orange County, 176~8.30 f.eet to a point in the West line of said Lot 6; thence South 1° 19' 45" East along the West line of said Lot 6 and the East line of Lot 7 of said Tract No. 1024, 2262.79 feet to the Southeast corner of said Lot 7; thence South 88o 43' 45" West along the South llne of said Lot 7, 1280.00 feet to a point in the East line of Harbor Boulevard as described in the deed recorded February 21, 1934, in Book 655, at page 431 of Official Records, records of said Orange County; thence North 1° 19' 45" West, along said East line, 490.51 feet to the begin- ning of a .tangent curve concave Westerly and having a radius of 1040.00 fee~; thence Northerly along said curve through a central - angle of 16 56' 57" an arc distance of 307.65 feet to a line tangent; thence North 18° 16' 42" West along said tangent line, 160.00 feet; thence North 7l°~3' 18" East 10.00 feet; thence North 18° 16' 42" West 239.23 feet to a point in the Southeasterly right of way line of the Santa Aha River Channel through the New- bert Protection District; said point being on a curve concave Northwesterly and having a radius of 23,093.33 feet; (A radial line through said point bears North 63~ 05' 43" West), thence Northeasterly along said curve through a central angle of 4° 09' 10" an arc distance of 1673.80 feet to an intersection with the Westerly extension of the North line of Lot 6, of said Tract No. 1024; thence North 89° 40' 00" East along said extension and North line, and the ~outh line of Lot 3 of said Tract No. 1024, 2703.86 feet to a point distant South ~9° 40' 00" West ~5.25 feet from the Southeast corner of said Lot 3; thence South 0° 30' 00" East 30.00 feet to a point in the South line of Harvard Street or the Westerly extension thereof as shown on said map of Tract No. 507; thence North 89° 40, 00" East, along said line, 1900.12 feet to the point of beginning. Ail bearings and distances are as shown on licensed Surveyor,s Map filed in Book 30, Page 43, Record o~' Survey in the Office of the County Recorder of Orange County, California. That said Council hereby designated "CRODDYLAND ANNEX NO. 1" as an appropriate name for said annexation. That said Council hereby declares its intention to and it will annex said territory to and include it within the Santa Aha Elementary 3chool District, Santa Aha High School District and Santa Ana Junior College District and upon the completion of said annexation, said terri- tory shall be and become a part of said School Districts. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that May 7, 1956 at the hour of 7:30 P.M. in the Council Chambers in the City Hall at Third and Main Streets, in the City of Santa Ana, California, is the time and place fixed at which said Council will hear protests made by any person owning real property within said territory so proposed to be annexed. At any time before said hour, any owner of any of said property may file written protest against this proposed annexation. Such protest should state the owner's name and, in general terms, a description and area of the prope~t~ owned. PASSED AND ADOPT~ by the City Council of the City of Santa Aha at its regular meeting held on the 5th day of March , 1956.
