DEED
AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF QUITCLAIM
WHEREAS, heretofore, the City acquired a lot for the realign-
ment of Orange Avenue and the property heretnbelow described was an
unused remnant of said lot; and
WHEREAS, on the 19th day of March, 1956 on the recommendation
of the City Manager, submitted in writing, the City Council did de-
termine that the property herein described should be offered for sale
and could have real value only to the owner of Lot 10, adjacent thereto
on the ~est, and could be used by other persons only for the purpose
of nuisance value to the owners of said Lot l0 for the reason that
said parcel is too small to constitute a building site, is bounded
on the North by an alley and on the Southeast by Orange Avenue and
touches no privately owned property except Lot 10; that said Council
directed that negotiation for the sale of said lot be carried on with
the said owner of Lot l0 without the necessity of public auction or
the requirements provided for in Section 2613 of the Santa Ana Munici-
pal Code; and
WHEREAS, the City has received a fair offer for said lot and
has agreed to sell the same for the sum of ~100.00 as hereinbelow set
out;
NOW, T~REFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the sale of the real prop-
erty for said sum of ~100.00 is hereby approved and ordered and the
Mayor and the Clerk of the Council are hereby instructed to execute a
quitclaim deed to remise, release and forever quitclaim to DAVID F.
0RTIZ and ~ARY H. 0RTIZ, husband and wife as Joint tenants, all of the
interest of said City in and to that real property in the City of Santa
Aha, County of Orange, State of California, described as:
That portion of Lot 9, Block G, South Santa Ana as shown on
a map thereof recorded in Book 5, Page 43, ~iscellaneous Naps,
Records of Orange County, California, described as follows:
Beginning at the Northwest corner of said Lot 9 and running
thence due South along the West line of said Lot 9, 63.89 feet
to a point; thence North 30° East ll. T1 feet to the beginning of
a tangent curve, having a radius of 290.00 feet and concave North-
westerly; thence along said tangent curve through a central angle
of ll° 39' 26" an arc distance of 590.02 feet to the North line of
said Lot 9; thence South 89 59' 30" West 29.97 feet to the point
of beginning.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana
at its regular meeting held on the ..2nd day of .April , 1956.
