AN~.XATION TO THE cITY OF SANTA ANA OF THAT CERTAIN
UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESCRIBED HEREIN AND DESIGNATED
"SEGE~TR0~,I ANNEX NO. l", AND GIVING NOTICE OF TIME
AND PLACE FOR HEAitING OF PROTESTS THE~ET0
VJHEREAS, the Boundary Cor~mission of Orange County, California
has approved the description of certain real property as herein set
out for the purpose of annexation, and the Planning Commission of
Sant~ Ana has approved the annexation of said territory; and
~EREAS, the owners of said real property have filed a petition
with the Clerk of the Council, requesting that the City of Santa Ana,
California annex said real property, stating that the same is unin-
habited, consenting in writing that said real property may be taxed
to pay any indebtedness or liability of said City contracted prior to
such annexation;
NOW, ~tEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the
City of Santa Aha hereby declares its intention to annex all of said
territory under the provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory
Act of 1939 and finds and hereby declares that said territory is dee~ed
uninhabited since it had less than 12 registered voters residing in it
on May21 , 1956, the date when said petition was filed, that said
territory is contiguous to the City of Santa Ana, California, lies
in the County of Orange, and is described as:
Beginning at a point in the West line of Bristol Street,
80.00 feet wide, as shown on a map filed in Book 29, at
page l~ of Record of Surveys, in the office of the County
Recorder of Orange County, California, said point being
distant North 0° 08' 40" East 200.06 feet from the inter-
section of said West line with the North line of ~he strip
of land 80.00 feet wide, conveyed to H. E. Huntington,
Trustee, now used as a railroad right of way, said point
being in the existing boundary line of the City of Santa
Ana; thence South 0° 08, 40" West along said West line of
Bristol Street and the Southerly extension thereof, ~20.09
feet to a point in the South line of Talbert Avenue 40.00
feet wide; thence South 88° 44' 40'' West along said South
line, ~610.49 feet; thence North 1° 00' 10" West l~?9.~l
feet to a point in the North line of Lot 7, of the
Williams Tract as shown on a map recorded in Book ~0~ at
page 14 of Deeds, records of Los Angeles County, California;
thence North 88° ~' 40" East along said North line,
1~91.18 feet to the Northeast corner of said Lot 7; thence
South 1° 0~, 20" East along the East line of Lots ? and 6
of said Williams Tract, 8~l.~l feet to the Northwest corner
of Lot ~, of Tract No. 88, as shown on a map recorded in
Book 10, at page 41 oF Miscellaneous Maps, records of
Orange County, California; thence North 89° 17' 40" East
666.22 feet to the Northeast corner of said Lot ~; thence
South 0° ~l' 20" East 196.07 feet to a point in a line
parallel with and distant 320.00 feet Northerly, measured
at right angles~ from said South line of Talbert Avenue;
thence North 88u ~lll' 40" East along said parallel line,
959.20 feet to the point of beginning.
That said Council hereby designated "SEGERSTROM ANNEX NO. l"
as an appropriate name for said annexation.
That said Council hereby declares its intention to and it will
annex said territory to and include it within the Santa Ana Elementary
School District, Santa Ana High School District and Santa Ana Junior
College District and upon the completion of said annexation, said
territory shall be and become a part of said School Districts.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that July 2, 1956 at the hour of ?:30
P.T~. in the Council Chambers in the City Hall at Third and Main Streets,
in the City of Santa Ana, California, is the time and place fixed at
which said Council will hear protests made by any person owning real
property within said territory so proposed to be annexed. At any time
before said hour, any owner of any of said property may file written
protest against this proposed annexation. Such protest should state
the owner's name and, in general terms, a description and area of the
property owned.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana
at its regular meeting held on the ~l?~ day of ~a~. , 1956.
