HomeMy WebLinkAbout56-155RESOLUTION NO. 5~-155 AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF QUITCLAIM DEE'D %~HEREAS, heretofore the City of Santa Ana acquired title to a strip of land 8 feet in width for the purpose of running thereon a sanitary sewer, which said sanitary sewer has now been discontin- ued and superseded by sewer lines at different locations, and the grantees hereinbelow referred to desire to acquire title to said strip of land diagonally across a 12-acre parcel fronting on the westerly side of Sullivan Street 344.52 feet north of the center line of Monte Vista Avenue; NOW, T.~IEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby approves the sale of all of the City's interest in and to said 8-foot strip of land, and authorizes and directs the Mayor and the Clerk of the Council to execute a .Quit- claim deed to Fritz F. Thompson and Wintfred Thompson, conveying the City's interest in that certain real property in the County of Orange, State of California, described as: A strip of land 8 feet wide for sewer center line as conveyed in the deed from Ashley Chase to City of Santa Ana, dated July 29th, 1898, and recorded August 18th, 1898, in Book 39, page 211 of Deeds, described as fol- lows: Beginning at a point 1872 feet South and 163 feet West of the Northeast corne~ of Section 15-5-10, S. B. B. & M.; thence South 50 3/4° West 1032 feet; thence South 71© West 331 feet to the Southwest corner of land then owned by Ashley Chase, and to deliver the same through escrow in exchange for the consider- ation of $500.00, the net price to be paid to the City. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana at its regular meeting held on the 21st day of May, 1956.
