ESTABLISHING A BASIC CO~,iF~JSATION PLAN FOR CEY{TAIN
CLASSES OF E}~!PL0~{ENT IN THE I'~JNICIPAL SERVICE OF THE
CITY OF SAI~TA ANA, AND ESTABLISHING REG~UI~TIONS FOR

SALARY SCHEDULES PROVIDED".
WItEREAS, on December 26, 19~1, the Board of Trustees of the
City of Santa Aha passed and adopted Resolution No. ~ll4 estab-
lishing a basic compensation plan for certain classes of employ-
ment in the service of the City of Santa Ana; and
~VHEREAS, the general level of wages and the costs of goods
and services in the area of Santa Aha have increased to a degree
making it desirable to adjust said basic compensation plan and
the City of Santa Ana has determined that it is in the best inter-
ests of said City to adjust the schedule numbers and make certain
additions to the list of class titles,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That Section 2 of Resolution
No. ~ll4 be and the sa~e is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Section 2: Salary and Wage Schedules. The following salary
and wage schedules shall constitute the basic compensation plan
consisting of five (~) steps or rates of pay in each schedule.
The respective schedules shall be identified by number and the
steps by the letters A to E inclusive. The coluntuar headings at
the top of each column shall establish the purpose of each step
and the length of service required for advancement to the next
higher step as provided in Section 7 hereof.

*Any patrolman assigned to duty on a two-wheel motorcycle will receive an
additional twenty-five dollars ($25.00) per month, while so assigned and
operating same.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the addition of schedule num-
bers and the modification of allocation of classes of employment
to salary and wage schedules shall be effective from July l,
1956.

Aha at its regular meeting held on the 18th day of June, 1956.
