RESOLUTION NO. 56-254
PERMITTED IN M-~
APPROVING THE INTERPRETATION OF USES
WHEREAS, HEHETOFORE, Mr. George W. Tackabury's letter, dated August 10,
1956, addressed to the City of Santa Ana, Attention: Mr. Homer Sterling, Assistant
City Manager, requested an interpretation and determination as to whether or not
the uses outlined in said letter fell within those permitted in the M-1 Zone as
the same exists in the City of Santa Ana, and
WHEREAS, this letter was referred to Mr. Harold Rasmussen, Director of
Building Safety and Housing, for further report, and
WH~, under date of October l, 1956, Mr. Harold Rasmussen addressed a
Memo to Mr. George Tackabury in words and figures as follows:
"I have been requested by Mr. Max Green, Jr. to give my interpretation
of the allowable use at your new location.
"It is my understanding that the land is now Zoned M-I, and according
to your letter written to the City of Santa Ana on August lO, 1956, the in-
tended use described by you as follows, "The ~nufacture of industrial
fasteners, screw machine products pressed steel shop and office equipment
involving operations consisting of general machine shop work, punch presses
and general metal working machine tools and equipment, metal plating, finish-
lng, processing and heat treating, and other like operations", will be well
within the M-I Zoning as stipulated by Article IX, Planning and Zoning
Ordinance,
"The Building Department is responsible for the enforcement of ~1]
zoning in the City of Santa Ana."
and these matters have been presented to the Council for consideration and approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the City of
Santa Ana, having considered correspondence hereinabove referred to and the exact
language hereinabove quoted, hereby approves and confirms the interpretation and
conclusion of allowable use as herein~bove worded from the Memo, dated October l,
1956, herein referred to.
PASSED AND ADOPT~D by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana at its
regular meeting held on the 1st day of October, 1956.
