HomeMy WebLinkAbout56-272RESOLUTION NO. 56-272 GIVING NOTICE OF PROPOSED ANNEXATION TO T!~ SANTA ANA OF THAT CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESCRIBED W~REIN AND DESIG- NATED "S.E. SOUTHERN PACIFIC AND DELHI ANNEX", AND GIVING NOTICE OF TIME AND PLACE FOR H~ARING OF PRO- TESTS THERETO W~,REAS, the Boundary Commission of Orange County, California has approved the description of certain real property as herein set out for the purpose of annexation, and the Planning Commission of the City of Santa Ana has approved said annexation; and WREHEAS, the owners of said real property have filed a peti- tion with the Clerk of the Council, requesting that the City of Santa Ana, California annex said real property, stating that the same is uninhabited, consenting in writing that said real property may be taxed to pay any indebtedness or liability of said City con- tracted prior to such annexation; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLYEu: That the City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby declares its intention to annex all of said territory under the provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Ter- ritory Act of 1939 and finds and hereby declares that said territory is deemed uninhabited since it had less than 12 registered voters residing in it on September 24, 1956, the date when said petition was filed, that said territory is contiguous to the City of Santa Ana, California, lies in the County of Orange, and is described as: Beginning at an angle point on the Santa Ana, California city limits line, said angle point being the northeast corner of the "Townsend Annexation" as established by the City of Santa Ana Ordinance No. 13~l, passed on April 21, 1952, said point of begiDning being a point on the North line of Delhi Road 55~.54 feet easterly from the center llne of Standard Avenue measured along the north line of Delhi Road; thence South 89v 20' 25" East 90.00 feet to the East Right-of-way line of the Southern Pacific Railroad; thence South 0° 34' ~5" West 10.O0 feet along said East line of the Railroad to the North line of Delhi Road; thence South 89° 20' 25" East 577.88 feet along said North line of Delhi Road; thence North 0° 33' 35" East 10.00 feet; thence South 89° 20' 25" East 79.82 feet along said city boundary; thence South 0u 26' 50" West 1152.00 feet; thence North 89° 20' 25" West 800.25 feet to said City Boundary; thence North 23° 16' 35" East 130.00 feet along said city boundary; thence North 0° 34' 45" East 1032.00 feet along said city boundary to the point of beginning. That said Council hereby designates "S. E. Southern Pacific and Delhi Annex" as an appropriate name for said annexation. That said Council hereby declares its intention to and it will annex said territory to and include it within the Santa Ana Ele- mentary School District, Santa Aha High School District and Santa Ana Junior College District and upon the completion of said annexation, said territory shall be and become a part of said School Districts. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Dece~oer 3rd , 19~6 at the hour of ?:30 P.E. in the Council Chambers in the City Hall at Third and Main Streets, in the City of Santa Aha, California, is the time and place fixed at which said Council will hear protests made by any per- son owning real property within said territory so proposed to be an- nexed. At any time before said hour, any owner of any of said property may file written protests against this proposed annexation. Such protest should state the owner's name and, in general terms, a description and area of the property owned. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That Resolution No. ~6-2~1 is hereby rescinded. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana at its regular meeting held on the l~th day of October, 19~6.
