OF S~TA AI~A F~QUE~TiNG A GRANT FROM THE COUNTY
OF ORANGE FOR THE D.,YELOPMENT OF EDINGE~{ STREET
~, The City ,of Santa Ana desires to improve Edinger Street from
Bristol Street to Center Street; and
WHEREAS, Edinger Street is an important East-West artery in the County
of Orange and of general County interest.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Council of the City of Santa
Ana hereby requests the County of Orange to grant to said City aid out of
the County's apportionment of the Highw~y Users Tax Eund in amount of
$~L.025.00 to be used to aid said City in the improvement of Edinger
Street from the Bristol Street to Center Street and acquiring the necessary
rights-of-way, said improvement to consist of the widening of said street,
the construction of curbs, gutters and the paving of said street, all in
accordauce with plans and specifications to be submitted by said City to
the Highway Department of the County of Orange.
BE IT FURTHER RESOL'~ED: That the Board of Supervisors of the County of
Orange is hereby requested to find that said work and acquisition of right-of-
way on Edinger Street in the manner provided is in the general County interest,
and said Board is further requested to make the appropriation as herein
requested and to make said funds available to said City.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That by this Resolution the City of Santa Ana
agrees to go forward with said work and to provide for the costs and expense
for such work over and above the said figure of $~4,025.00, and further agrees
that upon acceptance of this request and upon the making of said grant of aid
by the County, this Resolution ~and the Resolution of the Board of Supervisors
m~.Wd_ug said grant and any and all laws applicable thereto shall constitute the
agreement between the County of Orange and the City of Santa An~.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the Clerk of the Council is hereby instructed
to forward two certified copies of this Resolution to the Highway Department of
the County of Orange for submission to the Board of Supervisors with their
comments thereon.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana at its
regular meeting held on the 21st .day of .. January , 1957.
