THE
C_O~m~ATIOX,
OF CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY FOR THE PURPOSE OF ESTABLISH-
ING THEREON A PUBLIC LIBRARY AND OTHER BUILDINGS AND
DECLARING T~M PUBLIC NECESSITY FOR SAID USE
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana has determined the necessity for the
construction of a new Public Library and the voters of the City voted to issue
bonds to construct the same, and
WHEREAS, after study the City has selected the location and has acquired
most of the properties in the area best designed to service the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Council of the City of Santa
Ana does hereby find and determine that the public interest and necessity re-
quire that the City of Santa Ana do have, acquire and take fee title in and to
that certain real property in the City of Santa Aha, County of Orange, described as:
PARCEL 1. Lots 1, 3, 4, 5 and 6 of the North Part of the Greenleaf
Tract as per map thereof recorded in Book 25, page 49, Miscel-
laneous Records of Los Angeles County, California.
PARCEL 2. Lot 1, Stout's Addition to Santa Ana as per map thereof
recorded in Book 6, Page 28, Miscellaneous Maps, Records of said
Orange County.
PARCEL 3. Lots 10 and 11, Stout's Addition to Sm~a Ana as per map
thereof recorded in Book 6, Page 28, Miscellaneous Maps, Records
of said Orange County.
PARCEL 4. LOt 15, Stout's Addition to Santa Aha as per map thereof
recorded in Book 6, Page 28, Miscellaneous Maps, Records of said
Orange County,
and the Council of the City of Santa Ana does hereby find and determine that said
property is necessary for the purpose of locating and constructing thereon a
Public Library and other public buildings.
BE IT FURTHERRESOLVED: That the City Attorney be and he is hereby
ordered and directed to bring an action in the name of the City of Santa Aha in
the Superior Court of the State of California in and for the County of Orange,
for condemnation of said property necessary to be taken as herein ordered and
heretofore described and do all things necessary to prosecute said action to
final determination.
BE IT FURTF~R RESOLVED: That the public interest, necessity and con-
venience require and it is hereby ordered, that the City of Santa Ana, a
Municipal Corporation, Plaintiff in the cond~mnation action ordered herein,
take immediate possession and use of the property herein ordered to be acquired,
upon complying with the requirements of the law applicable thereto and that the
City Attorney report to the City Council, the amount of money required therefor
as soon as the same has been ascertained.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the said action for condemnation of said
property so to be acquired shall be taken in accordance with Section 14, Article
I of the Constitution of the State of California.
PASSED AND ADOPTEDby the City Council of the City of Santa Ana at its
regular meeting held on the 18th day of February, 1957o
