U.S.A. ENDORSING AND SUPPORTINQ THE ESTABLISHI~ENT OF A
"PEOPLE TO PEOPLE" PROGRAN WITH THE CITY OP SANTA ANA,
EL SALVADO~_R
WHEREAS, heretofore a program known as "People to People"
has been inaugurated to further understanding between the peoples
of this world; and
WHEREAS, the City of S~ta Ana, E1 Salvadore, and the City
of Santa Ana, California, have been suggested as corresponding
cities to undertake a program of acquainting the people of each
city with the way of life and the characteristics of the people
of the other city;
NOW, THEREFORE, ~E IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of
Santa Ana, Cal ifornia hereby declares its support of the estab-
lishment and maintenance of a "People to People" program with the
City of Santa Ana, E1 Salvadore; and
BE IT FURTHER ~SOLVED: That s~i d City Council finds that
the two Cities of Santa Ana herein named are very similar in size,
interests, and characteristics, snd that if the people of each
corm~unity could get to know the people of the other community,
international f~iendship, good will, and understanding would be
improved with the resulting benefits accruing to each City and
its

permanent basis, extends the hand of good will to Santa Aha, E1
Salvadore, and expresses the hope that the language barrier will
not prevent continuing acquaintance and fellowship between the
peoples of these two cities.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Ana at its regular meeting held on the 1st day of April, 1957.
