OR PERMIT FOR THE MAINTENANCE OF SPUR OR SIDE TRACES ACROSS
THIRD STREET AND FOURTH STREET, WEST OF BR~w~w~ STREET
WHEREAS, heretofore by Ordinance No. 439 the Cit~ of Sm~ta Aha granted the right to
~onstruct and maintain a certaim side or spur track across Third a~d Fourth S~reets, as
hereimbel~ described, which said right is about to ex~ire;
NCW, THEREFORE, BE 1T RESOLVED, and the City Council hereby declares its intention
to grant to the Southera Pacific Company, a Delaware c~rporation that has succeeded to
the rights granted J. M. Griffith Company, by Ordinance No. 439, the right to maimtain,
replace and operate for 25 years, railroad tracks in the City of ~anta Ama, Cali~oraia,
across said public streets, thecenter line of which said tracks is described as follows:
Beginning at a point in the northerly line of Fourth Street, 80 feet
wide, distant westerly thereon 234 feet, more or less from its inter-
section with the norther]~ prolongation of the westerly line of Breeden
Street; thence souther]~y 80 feet to a point in the southerl~ line of
said Fourth Street distant westerly thereon 234 feet, more or Is ss, from
its intersectim with the westerly line of said Breeden Street; thence
Co~ltinn~n~ southerly across private property to a point in the northerly
line of Third Street, 60 feet wide, distant westerly thereon 234 feet,
more or less, from its intersection with the westerly line of said B~eeden
Street; thence southerly 60 feet to a point in the southerly line of said
ThUd Street distant westerly thereon 234 feet, more or less, from its
intersection with the southerly prolongation of the westerly lime of said
Breede~ Street.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at 7:30 PM on May 20, 1957, in the Council Chambers,
City N~i, Santa Ama, California, is hereby fixed as the time and place when and where
persons having any interest in or desiring to object to the granting of the rights herein
set out may appear before the City Council and be heard thereon. It is proposed to
grant said franchise under the terms and comditions contained in Ordinance No. 439 of
the Ci~ of Santa Aha, subject to all the provisions of Article XIII of the Charter
of the City of Santa Aha.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa Aha at its regular
meeting held on the 15th day of April, 1957.
