Resolution Ordering Plans and specifications, to be known~ as Specifications No.86, For the Construction of Pavement with Con- crete base and Asphaltic oil and crushed rock surfacing. The Board of Trustees of the City of Santa Ana, do resolve and declare as follows:- Resolved, that the Engineer of the City of Santa Ana, California, be and he is hereby ordered to preps.re plans and speci- fications for the construction of pavement upon the public streets of said City, or streets forming the boundary thereof, to be known as Specifications No.~6, said pavement to be composed of a concrete base and crushed rock and asphaltic oil surfacing to be approved by the Board of Trustees of the City of Santa Ana, California, and placed on file with the City Engineer to be preserved for future use and reference in the construction of street improvements of the character therein provided on the public streets of the City of Santa Ana, or public streets that may lie partly within and partly without said City, forming the boundaries of the City of Santa Ans. A Resolution of the Board of Trustees of the City of Santa Ana adopting Amendment to Specifications passed, adopted and approved on the 5th day of June,1916, and now on file in the City Engineer's office and pertaining to crushed rock and oil macadam, and further providing that said Specifications a~ amended may apply to the improvement of public streets whether partly or wholly within or without the boundaries of the City of Sent& Aha now open or dedicated or which may hereafter be opened or dedicated for public use. The Board of Trustees of the Oity of Santa Aha does hereby resolVe and declare as follows:- Resolved that Paragraphs 6 and ? of Specifications Nc. S2 pertaining tc crushed rock smd oil macadam, passed and approved by the Board of Trustees of the City of Santa Aha, on the 5th day of June, 1916, be amended by substituting for Sections 6 and ? of said Specifications the following Sections No.6 and ? as to Crushed rock foundation and Nearing surface, a~ a~ set fort~and hereto attached to this Resolution. Be it further resolved, that said Specifications as amended shall apply to the improvement ~f public streets whether partly or wholly within or without the boundaries of the City of Santa Aha, now open or dedicated or which may hereafter be opened or dedicated to public use as provided in Act ~937-a of the General Laws of the State of California, as approved April 21st, 1911, and subsequent amendment thereto, and the maid Specifications as amended are hereby adopted as per the plane and specifications for construction of crushed rock and oil macadam as herein amended. After the sub-grade shall have been prepared as above speci- fied a~d ~oceptsd by the Street Superintendent, a layer of crushed rook which will pass through a two (2) inch screen and be retained on a one (X) inch screen graduated in size and brought to a uniform surface w+.th a road grader, shall be placed to such a depth that after being thoroughly sprinkled and rolled with a roller having a~ effective compressive w~ht of not less than three hundred and fifty (~0) pounds to the lineal inch width of tire, it shall have a depth O~ one and one-half (1~) inches. The rolling shall continue until the stone foundation forms one solid mass which will not yield uhder the weight of the roller. In case the crushed rock base appears too open' or porous the voids shall be filled by tming crushed rock which will pass a 1 inch screen and be retained on a 1/~ inch screen. ~pon .the base. prepared as above specified shall be applied liquid asphaltu~ at the rate of (~) one-half o~ ~ gallon to s~oh square y~rd of surface. The edge of the concrete gutter shall be painted with hot asphaltic oil before the crushed rock is spread on the sub -gr ads. The crushed rock shall be a hard durable material that and crushes with sharp fr~oturesAshall he uniform in character. It shall contain no rock that has not been fractured and shall not contain more than ten (10) per cent cf rock h&ving rounded sides. ?. Wearing Surface. After the crushed rock base shall have been prepared as above speci- fied, examined by the Street Superintendent and a certificate of acceptance issued by him, a layer of crushed rock consisting of rook which shall pass through a one (1) inch screen and ~ retained on a one-fourth (1/4) inch screen graduated in size, shall be evenly spread over the rock base with a road grader to such thickness that after being thoroughly pprinkled and rolled with a roller having ~n effective Compressive weight of not less than three hundred and fifty (~0)pounde to the lineal inch width of tire, it shall be one-half (1/~) inch in thickness. This layer of crushed rook shall be spread and made parallel with the finished grade and cross-section. Liquid asphaltum shall then be applied at the rate of one-half (1/~) gallon to each square yard of street surface, after which a layer of rock screenings (one-half (1/~)lnch and under in ei~e and free from dust~ shall be spread in sufficient quantity to get a smooth even s~trface and to absorb all surplus oil. The surface shall then be sprinkled with a wagon sprinkler and rolled until it becomes hard and smooth and is free from all hollows and irregularities. All loose surplus materials shall then be swept off, and the street left closed to traffic for at lea~t 5 days. If later any free oil ~ppeare under the traffic, more screenings shall be thrown on the surface to absorb the surplus oil. The Board of Trustees of the City of Santa Aha, does hereby resolve and declare as follows:- Be it resolved by the Board of Trustees of the City of Santa Aha, that Specifications No.80 as heretofore referred to and used by the City of Santa Aha in the construction of asphalt and concrete pavement are hereby adopted to be referred to and shall govern the work therein provided in the construction of asphalt and concrete pavement in the City of Santa Aha, California, and also in the pavement of streets, avenues, alleys, courts and places wholly within the City of Santa Aha, or when partially within the City of Santa Aha, and partially without the City of Santa Aha, when the same shall be constructed with concrete and asphalt pavement and that the same shall be filed in the office of the City Engineer of the City of Santa Aha, California, to be referred to am governing in proceedings relating to asphalt and concrete pavement, a copy of which specifications are hereto attached marked exhibit "A' and made a part of this Resolution. A Resolution of Intention of the Board of Trus- tees of the City of Santa Aha, California, Declaring its inten- tion to improve that certain portion of North Parton Street lying between Rickey Street on the North and a line parallel with said Hlckey Street and 101.5 feet South thereof, except- ing therefrom any of said work already done to official grade, with concrete curb, concrete gutters and crushed rock and oil macadam paving between the aforesaid cement gutters and the center of the Street, and also providing for the construc- tion of asphalt concrete pavement on that portion of West Fourth Street between Bristol Street on the east and Artesia Street on the West, excepting therefrom any of said work already done to official grade~ and excepting however from all the aforesaid described work, such portion as is required by law to be kept in order or repair by the Pacific Electric Railway Company. The Board of Trustees of the City of Santa An~ does resolve and declare as follows:- Resolved, that it is the intention of the Board of Trustees of the City of Santa Aha, California, to order the following street work done to-wi't:- and to assess the cost thereof to the abutting property. To construct concrete curbing, concrete gutter and crushed rock and oil macadam on that certain portion of North Patton Street lying between the south line of Hickey Street on the North and a line on the South parallel with and 101.5 feet South of the South line of said Hickey Street, excepting therefrom any of said work already done to official grade, and that the aforesaid portion of the aforesaid street be improved by the construction of cement c~trbing, the same to be done in accordance with the provisions of Ordinance No.4g3 prepamed by the City Engineer and adopted and approved by the Board of Trustees of the City of Santa Aha, on the 15th day of August,1909, which said Ordinance was duly signed by the President of the Board Sf Trustees and attested by the City Clerk and published according to law and is in force and effect in the City of Santa Ana, respecting the specifications for the construction of cement curbing in the City of Santa Aha, California, and is herein referred to and is made a part of this Resolution. That a concrete gutter 2 feet in width and 4 inches in thickness shall be constructed on the side adjacent to the curb on the aforesaid portion of the aforesaid street and the remaining space from the gutter to the center of the street shall be paved with crushed rock and oil macadam 2 inches in thickness, the aforesaid gutter and the aforesaid crushed rook and oil macadam paving shall in all particulars conform to and comply with Specifications NO.82 as now amended, which Specifi- cation was prepared by the City Engineer and adopted and approved by the Board of Trustees of the City of Santa Aha, on the 5th day of June 1916, and remains on file in the office of the City Engineer of the City of Santa Aha, with amendments attached thereto as the Specifications pertaining to the construction of cement gutters and crushed rock and oil macadam for the improvement of streets in the City of Santa Aha, California, ~nd under which aforesaid Specifications the aforesaid improvement herein contem- plated shall be made and a~e herein referred to and are made a part of this Resolution, and it is herein further provided that in the construction of aforesaid improvement it shall conform to the plans, profiles and cross-sections prepared by the City Engineer of the City of Santa Aha, pertaining to the aforesaid improvement, and which plans, profiles smd cross-sections were adopted and approved by the Board of Trustees of the City of Santa Aha, on the 22nd day of 0ctober,1917, and remain on file in the office of the City Engineer of the City of Santa Aha subject to the inspection of all persons or parties affected by the aforesaid improvement, and the same as referred to herein are ms,lc a part of this Resolution. Be it fttrther resolved, that it is the intention of the Board of Trustees of the City of Santa Aha,California, to order the following additional street work done to-wit:- That all of that unpaved portion of West Fourth Street lying between the West line of Bristol Street on the East and the East line of Artesia Street on the West be paved with a 4 inch concrete base ~nd a 1½ inch asphaltic wearing surface, said work to be done under the Specifications Nc.g0 which aforesaid Speci- fications were prepared by the City Engineer of the City of Santa Aha, California, and were adopted and approved by the Board of Trustees of the City of Santa Ana, on the 22nd day of October 1917, as Specifications for asphalt concrete pavement to be constructed in the City of Santa Aha, California, and which afore- said Specifications remain on file in the office of the City Engineer of the City of Santa Ana, california, and under the pro- visions of said Specifications the aforesaid work shallbe con- structed, and which said Specifications as referred to herein are made a part of this Resolution, and it is further provided herein that the work thereon to be done shall be in accordance with the plane, profiles and cross-sections prepared for the aforesaid improvement by the City Engineer of the City of Santa Aha, California, and which said plans, profiles and cross-sections were adopted and approved by the Board of Trustees of the City of Santa Ana, California, on the 22nd day of October,191?, and remain on file in the office of the City Engineer of the City of Santa Ana, California, and according to which plans, profiles and cross-sections the aforesaid improvement herein contemplated shall be done, excepting therefrom any of said work already done to the official grade, smd further excepting from all of the aforesaid described work such portion as is required by law to be kept in order or repair by the Pacific Electric Railway Company, a corporation, which corporation conducts a street railway on the 64 aforesaid portion of said streetl it being the intent of this proceeding to require the improvement of that portion of afore- said street in like manner and material that the same shall con- form in all particulars to the pavement now completed and con- structed on the aforesaid portion of the aforesaid street herein sought to be further improved. That the aforesaid plans, pro- files and cross-sections as heretofore referred to are made & part of this Resolution. Notice is hereby given that on the'3rd day of December, 1917, at ?:30 o'clock p.m. in the Council Chamber of the City Hall of said City of Santa Aha, any and sdl persons having any objections to the proposed work or improvement or either of the improvements herein referred to and contemplated herein may appear before said Board and show cause why said proposed im- provement should not be carried out in accordance with this Reso- lution. The Clerk shall cause this Resolution of Intention to be published three times in the "Santa Ana Daily Register" & ~aily newspaper of general circulation in Santa Ana, California, and hereby designated for that purpose by the Board of Trustees of said City. The Street Superintendent shall cause to be conspicuously posted along the lines of said contemplated work and improvement and in front of all the property liable to be assessed for said improvement notices of the passage of this Resolution of Inten- tion in the manner and form required by law. Ail of the herein proposed work to be done pursuant to an Act of the Legislatu~e of the State of California, designated the "Improvement Act of 1911, approved Apri2 ?th,1911, and amend- ments thereto. A RESOLUTION OF INTENTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF TME CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO CHANGE, MODIFY AND ESTABLISH THE GRADE OF SOUTH BRISTOL ST., IN THE CITY OF SANT~ ANA, CALIFORNIA. does The Board of Trustees of the City of Santa Ana, California, de~axe and resolve as follows: Resolved, that the public interest and public necessity demands and it is therefore ordered that that portion of South Bristol Street from its intersection with the center line of West First St.,on the North to the City Limits on the South be changed, modified and re-established as follows to-wit: Section 1.
