BASIC COMPENSATION FLAN FOR CERTAIN CLASSES OF EMPLOYMENT
IN THE MUNICIPAL SERVICE 0F T~£ CITY OF SANTA ANA, AND
ESTABLISHING REGULATIONS FOR THE PI~CEMENT OF PRESENT EM-
PLOYEES WITHIN THE WAGE AN]) SALARY SCHEDULES PROVIDED,
AND FIXING HOURLY RATES FOR PART-TII~E AND TEMPORARY EMPLOYEF. S
WHEREAS, on December 26, 1951, the Board of Trustees of the
City of Santa Ana passed and adopted Resolution No. 5114 establish-
lng a basic compensation plan for certain classes of employment in
the service of the City of Santa Ana; and
WHEREAS, the general level of wages and the costs of goods and
services in the area of Santa Ana have increased to a degree making
it desirable to adjust said basic compensation plan and the City
Council has determined that it is in the best interests of s~d City
to adjust the schedule numbers and make certain additions to the list
of class titles;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: Th~ Section 3 of Resolution
No. 5114 be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Section 3: Allocation of Classes of Employment to Salary and
Wage Schedules. Classes of employment shall be allocated to Salary
and Wage Schedules as follows:

* Any patrolman assigned to duty on a two-wheeled motorcycle
shall receive extra compensation for s~y month during which the major
portion of his duty involves the riding of such motorcycle, and any
patrolman assigned to duty as an Investigator shall receive extra
compensation for any month in which the major portion of his duty has
been so assigned. The extra compensation in each case shall be, in
addition to the regular scheduled pay, the sum o f Twenty-Five Dollars
($25.00) per month.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a new section to be numbered Section
3.1 is hereby added to Re~ lution No. 5114 fmmediately following Section
3 in words and figures as follows:
"Section 3.1. Part-time and Temporary Hourly Hates.
PART-TIME AND TEMPORARY EMPLOY~S under the following class
titles shall receive wages based on t he hourly or per game rates
set opposite the Class Title:

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the addition of schedule numbers
and the modification of allocation of classes of employment to salary
s~ud wage schedules shall be effective from August 1st, 1957.
