HomeMy WebLinkAbout57-214RESOLUTION NO. 57-214 GIVING NOTICE OF PROPOSED ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF SANTA ANA OF THAT CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRI- TORY DESCRIBED HEREIN AND DESIGNATED "SULLIVAN AND WILLITS WEST OF ANNEX", AND GIVING NOTICE OF TIME AND 'PLACE FOR HEARING OF PROTESTS THERETO. WHEREAS, the Boundary Com~iss~ on of 0rauge County, California has approved the description of certain real property as herein set out for the purpose of a~nexation and the planning Connnission of Santa Ana has approved said annexation; a~ d WHEREAS, the owners of all said real property have filed a petition with the Clerk of the Council, requesting that the City c~ SaGta Aha, Cal if om ia annex said real property, stating that the same is uninhabited and consenting in writing that sa~ d real property may be taxed to pay any indebtedness or liability of said City con- tracted prior to such annexation; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby declares its intention to annex all of said territory to s~i d City under the provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 193~ and finds and hereby declares th~ said territory is deemed uninhabited since it had less than 12 regis- tered voters residing in it on August 5, 1957, the date when said petition was filed, that said territory is contiguous to the City of Santa Aha, California, lies in ~he. County of 0range~ and is described as: A por~t0n of Lot 2 of the Sepulveda Tract, in the R~ cbc Santiago de Smuta Aha, as shown on a map recorded in Book 31, Page 197 of Deeds, Records of Los Angeles County, des- cribed as follows: Beginning at a point on the City boundary of the City of Santa Aha, said point being on the center line of Sulliv~ Street, 550.26 feet South of the Northwest corner of the tract conveyed by H. H. Roper to C. G. Linington and others by deed dated December 9, 1876, recorded in Book 52, Page 533 of Deeds, Records of Los Angeles County, said Northwest corner being an angle point in said City boundary; said angle point, as described in Ordinance 73, dated August 20, 1888, being the Northwest corner of Lot 3, S~lta Ana Acres, as shown on a map recorded in Miscellaneous M~s, Book 5, P~ge 8, Records of Orange County, California; thence South 89° 48' 30" West 1263.90 feet; thence due South 414.66 feet; thence North 89048' 30" East Z263.90 feet to said City bound- ary; thence due North 414.66 feet along said City boundary, and along said center line of Sulliv~ Street to the point of beginning. That said Council hereby designates "Sullivan and Willits West of Annex" as an appropriate name for said annexation. That said Council hereby declares its intention to andit will annex said territory, to and include it within the Santa Aha School District, Santa Aha High School District and Santa Ana Junior College District and upon the completion of said annexation, said territory shall be and become a part of said School Districts. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that September 16 , 1957, at the hour of 7:30 P.~i. in the Council Chambers in the City Hall at Third and ~ain Streets, in the City of Santa Aha, California, is the time and place fixed at which said Council will hea~ protests made by any person owning real property within said territory so proposed to be annexed. At any time before said hour, any owaer of any of said property may file written protest against this proposed annexation. Such protest should state the owner's name and, in general terms, a description and area of the property owned.
