ANNEY_~TION OF TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, DESIG-
NATED "MAIN AND NEWPORT N. E. ANNEX", AND GIVING NOTICE
OF TIME AND PLACE OF HEARING PROTESTS THERETO
~EREAS, the Boundar~ Commission of Orange County, California
has approved the description of certain real property, as herein-
below set out, for the purpose of au nexation, and the Planning
Commission of the City of Santa Ana has approved said annexation, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Santa Ana, California
has determined the advisability of initiating proceedings for such
annexation, and has determined that said real property is contiguous
to the City of Santa Ana and is uninhabited, as hereinbelow set out;
NOW, ~EREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the
City of Santa Aha hereby initiates proceedings for the annexation of
the real property herein described; that the reasons why said Council
initiates proceedings in this matter are as follows:
1. That there are multiple ownerships in said area and many
of said owners have expressed themselves as desiring annexation of
their property to said City.
2. That the area can best be served by the City of Santa Ana
with sll municipal services of the highest caliber obtainable in
Orange County.
3. That the improvements contemplated by the City will by
their proper location serve and benefit said territory, or so much
thereof as is within the City of Santa Ana, Cd ifornta.
BE IT FURTHER RES0~ED: That the City Council hereby declares
its intention to annex all of said territory under the provisions of
the Annexation o f Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939, and hereby finds
and declares that said territory is uninhabited within the meaning of
Section 35303 of the Government Code on the date of the adoption of
this Resolution; that said territory is contiguous to the City of
S~nta Ana, lies in the County of 0range, State of California, and is
described as:
Beginning at au angle point in the City Boundary of the City
of Santa Ana, California, said angle point being the southwest
corner of the Seccombe Tract as shown on a map thereof recorded
in Book 8, Page 89 of Miscellaneous Naps, Records of 0rauge
County, aud running thence northerly along said City Boundary
and ~ ong the west line of said Seccombe Tract to the northwest
corner of said Seccombe Tract, and to an angle point in said
City Boundary; thence north 89° 31' 42" west along the westerly
extension of the north line of said Seccombe Tract and along
said City Boundary 735.4? feet to an angle point in said City
Boundary; thence north 0° 10' 05" west along said City boundary
664.9~ feet to an angle point in said City Boundary; thence
north 89° 45' 00" West 321.07 feet along said City Boundary to
an angle point in said City Boundary; thence north 0° 01' 05"
west along said City Boundary 668.53 feet to a point on the
center line of Dyer Road and to an angle ~oint in said City
Boundary; thence westerly along said center line of Dyer Road
and along said City Boundary to the intersection of said center
line of Dyer Road with the northerly extension of the east line
of Lot 5 of South S~ta Ana Place, as shown on a map recorded
in Book 5, Page 50 of i~iscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange
County, Cd ifornia, and to aa angle point in said City Boundary;
thence southerly along said northerly extension of the east line
of Lot 5 and ~ ong the East line of said Lot 5 and along said
City Boundary 536.60 feet to an angle point in said City Boundary;
thence westerly along a line parallel with and 536.60 feet
southerly, measured aiong said east line and its northerly ex-
tension of Lot 5, from said center line of Dyer Road, and along
said City Boundary 330.00 feet to an angle point in said City
Bo ~ndary; thence northerly along said City Boundary, and aiong
a line parallel with and 330.00 feet westerly from said east
line of Lot 5, 536.60 feet to said center line of Dyer Road and
to an angle point in said City Boundary; thence westerly along
said center line of Dyer Road and along said City Boundary to
a point on said center line of Dyer Road which is 33.00 feet
easterly, measured at right angles, from the center line of Main
Street; thence southerly, departing from said City Boundary,
along a line par~-llel with and 33.00 feet easterly, measured
at right angles~ from said center line of ~ain Street to its
intersection with a line~ which is 30.00 feet southeasterly,
measured at right angles, from the center line of Newport Avenue;
thence northeasterly along said line which is 30.00 feet s c~th-
easterly from the center line of Newport Avenue to its inter-
section with the easterly extension of the north line of said
Se¢combe Tract; thence westerly along said easterly extension
of the Seccombe Tract to the center line of said Newport Avenue
and to an angle point in said City Boundary; thence Southwesterly
along said center line of Newport Avenue and along said City
Boundary to its intersection with the easterly extension of
the south line of said Seccombe Tract and to an angle point
in said City Boundary; thence westerly along said south line
of the Seccombe Tract and along its easterly extension and
along said City Boundary to the southwest corner of said Seccombe
Tract, and to the point of beginning.
That "Main and Newport N. E. Annex" is hereby designated as an
appropriate name of said annexation; that said Council hereby declares
its intention to~ aud it will, annex said territory to, and include
it within, the Santa Ana School District, Santa Ana High School
District, and Santa Ana Jr. College District, and upon completion of
said annexation said territory shall be and become a part of said
School Districts.

NOTICE IS HEPSEBY GIVEN that l~arch 17th, 1958, at the hour of
7:30 P.?.~. in the Council Chambers in the City Hall, 3rd and Main
Streets, in the City of Santa Aha, Califor~la, is the time and place
fixed at which said Council will hear protests made by any person
owning real property within said territory so proposed to be annexed.
At any time before said hour any owner of any of said territory may
file written protest against this proposed annexation. Such protests
must state the owner's nme and, in general terms, a description and
the area of the property owned.
