RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA REQUESTING THE COUNTY OF ORANGE
TO INCLUDE WITHIN THE ARTERIAL HIGHWAY FINANCING PROGRAM THE DEVELOPMENT OF
SE~TEENT,,~ STREET
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Aha desires to improve Seventeenth Street from
Tustin Avenue to East City Limits, and
WHEREAS~ Seventeenth Street is an important artery in the County of Orange and
of general County interest, and
WHEREAS, Article 2 and Article 3~ Chapter 9~ Division 2 of the Streets and
Highways Code authorizes a County, if it so desires, to expend funds apportioned
to it out of the California Highway Users Tax Fund for aid to any City in the improve-
ment, construction or ~'repair of a street within a City~ and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors intends toy by appropriate action~ provide in
{he County budget of the Special Road Improvement Fund for the Fiscal Year 1958-1959,
a sum of money for the improvement of streets within the incorporated cities of the
County in accordance with the Orange County Arterial Highway Financing Program.
NOW THEREFORE~ BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Santa Aha hereby
requests the Board of Supervisors of the C~)unty of Orange to allocate to said City from
County Funds the amount Of $15,500.00, said amount %o be matched by funds from said
City, to be used to aid said City in the improvement of Seventeenth ~treet from
Iustin Avenue to East City Limits; said improvements to be in accordance with the
attached project statement:
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED %hat the Board of Supervisors of the C~unty of Orange is
hereby requested to find that said work on Seventeenth Street, in the manner provided~
is in the general County interest.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, by this Resolution, the City of Santa Aha agrees
with the basic concepts of the Arterial Highways Financing Program; and further agrees
that its share of the cost of improvements and rights of way will be available for the
fiscal year 1958-1959.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Santa Aha at its regular meeting
held on the ..l?th day of November , 1958.
