RESOLUTION OF THH COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA REQUESTING THE COUNTY OF (~ANGE
TO INCLUDE WITHIN THE ARTERIAL HIGHWAY FINANCING PR0~AM THE DEVELOPMENT OF HARB(IR
BOULEVARD ~
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Aha desires to improve Harbor Boulevard from the north
property line of Voit Rubber Company to the south property line of Standard Pressed
Steel Company, and
WHEREAS~ Harbor Boulevard is an important artery in the County of Orange and of
general County interest, and
WHEREAS, Article 2 and Article 3~ Chapter 9, Division 2 of the Streets and Highways
Code authorizes a County, if it so desires, to expend funds apportioned to it out of the
California Highway Users Tax Fund for aid to any City in the improvement, construction
or repair Of a street within a City, and
WH~RHA~, the Board of Supervisors intends to, by appropriate action, provide in the
County budget of the Special Road Improvement Fund for the Fiscal Year 1958-59 a sum of
money for the improvement of streets within the incorporated cities of the County in
accordance with the Orange ~unty Arterial Highway Financing Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, B5 IT RESOLVF/) that the Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby
requests the Board of ~pervisors of the County of Orange to allocate to said City from
County Funds the amount of $9,500.00~ said amount to be matched by funds from said City,
to be used to aid said City in the improvement of Harbor Boulevard from the north
property line of Voit Rubber Company to the south property line of Standard Pressed
Steel Company; said improvements to be in accordance with the attached project statement;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange is
hereby requested to find that said work on Harbor Bsulevard, in the manner provided,
is in the general County interest.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, by this Resolution, the City of Santa Ana agrees with
the basic concepts of the Arterial Highways Financing Program; and further agrees that
its share of the cost of improvements will be available for the fiscal year 1958-59.
