TO VACATE CERTAIN UNNAM~ED ALLELES SOUTH OF DELHI ROAD AND
EAST OF I~IN STREET, RESERVING UTILITY EASEMENTS IN CERTAIN
OF SAID ALLEYS, AND FIXING TI~E AND PLACE OF HEARING THEREON
WHEREAS, after study, the Planning Commission and the Director
of Public Works have reco.mmended the vacation of certain unnamed
alleys and portions of alleys in the City of Santa Ana, California,
hereinbelow described, and the City Council, after study, has con-
cluded that the same may be unnecessary for present or prospective
s~cet purposes and has caused a map to be prepared;
NOW, I~tEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the map heretofore filed
in the office of the Cler~ of the Council in conjunction with Resolu-
tion No. 58-274, is hereby ordered attached to thy Resolution, is
~proved and adopted, and declared to be a part of this Resolution,
and reference is hereby made to said map for particulars of location,
extent, terminae and exact details of these proposed street vacations,
and the City Council hereby declares its intention to vacate, abandon
and close up as public streets or alleys those certain alleys and
portions of alleys hereinbelow described, and said City Council has
deter~ined that public convenience and necessity require the reser-
vation of easements and rights of way for existing utility structures,
and any street vacation concluded as the result of this proceeding
is taken subject to such reservations and exceptions to preserve
such necessary public utility easements.
The alleys and paths thereof hereinabove referred to are des-
cribed as:
1.
Extending from Central Avenue to Adams Street, between
railroad tracks and Measor Street:(20-foot alley).
In and between Block ~, Tract 39, Block H, of the South
Santa Ana Tract: Bounded on the north by the westerly
extension of the northerly line of Lot 13, Block 5; and
on the south by a line beginning at a point 2.~ feet
north of the southeast corner of Lot 10, Block H, extend-
ing east to the westerly line of Lot 14, Block 5.
Reserving and excepting~from said vacation a permanent
easement and right of way to construct, maintain, operate
and renew gas pipe lines and appurtenant structures and
the right to ~rotect the s~e from all hazards in and over
the westerly b feet of said alley.
2. Extending from Orange Avenue to Cypress Avenue, south of
Central Avenue. In Block G, South Santa Ana Tract: A l~-
foot alley bounded on the east by the westerly line of
Orange Avenue, and on the west by the easterly line of
Cypress Avenue.
Reserving and excepting from said vacation an easement to
constr~ct, place, operate, inspect, maintain, repair, replace
and remove such aerial and underground telephone, telegraph
and communication structures as the company may from time to
time require, consisting of poles, anchors, wires, cables,
conduits, manholes, markers amd necessary fixtures and appurt-
enances in and over the land described as:
The south seven and one half (7.5).feet of that certain alley
to be vacated abutting Lots 9 to lb inclusive of. Block G,
South Santa Ana Tract, as said Lots and Block are shown on
map of said tract recorded in Book ~ at Page 43 of Miscellan-
eous ~aps in the office of the County Recorder of Orange
County.
Between Cypress Avenue and Main Street, south of Central
Avenue, in Block F. South Santa Ana Tract: That portion of a
20-foot alley bounded on the east by the westerly line of
Cypress Avenue and on the west by a line 150 feet west of and
parallel to the westerly line of Cypress Avenue.
4' Between Orange Avenue and Cypress Avenue, north of Central
Avenue. In Block D, South Santa Ana Tract: The 10-foot
alley bounded on the east by the westerly line of Lot 3,
Tract 1575, and on the west by the easterly line of Cypress
Avenue.
5. Extending f~om Cypress Avenue to Main Street, north of Central
Avenue. In Block E, South Santa Ana Tract: The 10-foot
alley bounded on the east by the westerly side of Cypress
Avenue, and on the west by a line 50 feet east of and parallel
to the center line of South Main Street.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the 16th day of February, 1959, at
the hour of 7:30 o'clock p.m. on said day, in the Council Chambers in
the City Hall, 3rd and Main Streets, in t he City of Santa Ana, Califor-
nia, is hereby fixed as the time ~d place for hearing all persons
interested in or objecting to the proposed vacation of those portions
of streets and alleys herein described; that the City Council hereby
declares its intention to proceed with this street vacation under the
provisions of the Street Vacation Act of 1941, Part 3, Division 9, of
the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California; and
That the Clerk of the Council is hereby ordered to publish this
Resolution in the manner prescribed by law for the publishing of
Ordinances of the City, and the Director of Public Works is hereby
ordered to post conspicuously along the lines of all portions of streets
and alleys herein proposed to be vacated, at least l0 days before the
date of said hearing, notices stating the passage of this Resolution

of Intention and the time and place of hearing; such notices shall
be posted not more than 300 feet apart and at least three shall be
posted along said street herein proposed to be vacated.
