HomeMy WebLinkAbout59-055 RESOLUTION NO. 59-55 EXPRESSING APPRECIATION FOR THE LONGAI~ FAITHFUL SERVICE OF HAROLD O. RASMUSSEN TO THE PEOPLE OF SANTA ANA WHEREAS, Harold O. Rasmussen was employed by the City of Santa Aha on the first day of December, 1936, as Chief Building Inspector, and placed in charge of the Building Department; and WHEREAS, thereafter on reorganization of that Department his title was changed to "Director of Building Safety and Housing"; and ~{EREAS, from the first day of December, 1936, to and including the 28th day of February, 1959, Mr. Rasmussen served as a department head of the City of Santa Ana, in charge of building inspection, enforcement of zoning regu- lations and other functions that have during said period been the responsibility of the Department of Building Safety and Housing, a period of more than 22 years; and WHEREAS, during said period he has contributed to the safety and structural soundness of buildings in this City, has had direct supervision of All bntldings built in the City of Santa Aha, excepting only school structures, and has carried on and operated his Department in a manner that has caused a minimum of inconvenience to builders, and has been of service to owners of property within our City; and ~REAS, he has outstandingly contributed to the reputation of the City of Santa Aha by maintaining the best pos- sible public relations with the general public in all of his dealings for and on behalf of said City; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA: Th~ the appreciation of said body for this public service be expressed in words, in Resolution form, for and on behalf of said City Council, a~d for and on behalf of said City Council, and for an an behalf of the employees of the City of Santa Aha and for the citizens thereof; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the City Council hereby expresses its thanks to Mr. Rasmussen for the honor and recognition he has brought to this City due to his activities and active interest in the Pacific Coast Building Officials Conference, an organization in ~nich he held mar~ offices, and of which he was President, in mhich capacity he materially helped in the development of the Uniform Building Code, which is now almost universally used in the western part of the United States; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That said City Council hereby extends to Mr. Rasmussen their best wishes for his full enjoyment of the well earned retirement upon which he is now embarking. PASSED AND ADOPTs3 by the City Council of the City of Santa Aha at its regular meeting held on the 2nd day of March, 1959, by the unanimous vote of all the members of said City Council.
