ANNEXATION OF TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, DESIG-
NATING THE NAME 0F "DELHI AND GREENVILLE S. W. ANNEX"
AS APPROPRIATE NAME FOR SAID TERRITORY, A_ND GIVING NOTICE
OF THE TIME AND PLACE OF HEARING PROTESTS THERETO
~HEREAS, heretofore the owners of the territory hereinbelow
described furnished to the City of Santa Ana a description of said
territory and requested that Uninhabited territory annexation be
started to annex said territory; and
WHEREAS, the Boundary Commission of Orange County has approved
the description hereinbelow set out as to definiteness and certainty,
and the Planning Con~ission of the City of S~ta Ana has approved
the annexation of said territory;
NOW, THEREFORE, ~ IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the
City of Santa Ana hereby initiates proceedings for the annexation
of the real property herein described to said City for the follo~ lng
reasons:
1. That the owners of all of said territory have verbally re-
quested annexation, but that some of them are temporarily absent, and
for that reason unable to sign a petition for annexation.
2. That the area can best be served by the City of Santa Ana
with municipal services of the highest caliber anywhere obtainable.
3. That said territory is not contiguous to say city other
thau Santa Ana.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the City Council hereby declares
its intention to annex all of the territory he re inbe low described
under the provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act
of 1939, and hereby finds and declares that said territory is unin-
habited within the meaning of Government Code Section 35303, on the
date of the adoption of this Resolution; that said territory is
contiguous to the City of Santa Ana, lies in the County of Orange,
State of California, and is described as:
Beginning at the intersection of the center line of Delhi
Road with the northerly extension of the west line of 0~d ~
Newport Road, 60.00 feet wide, said point of beginning being
an angle point in the city boundary of the City of Santa Aha,
California, and also being the northeast corner of Lot 3 in
Tract 1013 recorded in Book 33, page 36, ~iscel laneous ~aps,
Records of Orange County, California; and running thence
South 87° 42' 15" West along said city boundal~y and along
the north line of said Lot 3, 1,08~.27 feet to an angle
point in said city boundary; thence South 1° 00' l~" East
1,000.2~ feet to a line parallel with and 1,000.00 feet
southerly, measured at right angles from, said center line
of Delhi Road; thence North 87° 42, l~" East 1,14 .43 feet
along said parallel line and its extension to the east line
of 01d Newport Road, 60.00 feet wide; thence North 1° 00'
4~" West along said East line of 01d Newport Road and its
northerly extension 1,020.26 feet to said city boundary of
the City of Sa~ ta Ana; thence westerly along said city bound-
ary 50.00 feet more or less to a~ angle point in said city
boundary; thence southerly along said city boundary 20.00
feet more or less to the point of beginning.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That "Delhi and Greenville S.
Annex" is hereby designated as an appropriate name for said terri-
tory for the purpose of this ~uexatlon; t~hat said City Council
hereby declares its intention to, and it will, annex said territory
to and include it within the Sau ta Ana School District, the Santa
Ana High School District, and the Sa~ ta Ana Junior College District,
and upon completion of this annexation said territory shall be and
become a part of said school districts.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN: That May
4th, 19~9~ at the hour of 7:30 P.N. in the Council Chambers in the
City Hall, 3rd and Nain Street, Santa Ana, California, is the time
and place fixed at which said Council will hear protests against
this annexation, made by any person owning real property within
said territory so proposed to be annexed. At any time before said
hour, any owner of any of said territory may file written protest
against this proposed annexation. Such protest must state the
owner's name and the description and area of the property owned by
him in genersl terms.
