~ARKEL FOR HIS OUTSTANDING SERVICE AS A C~NCIL~AN OF
THE CITY OF S~TA ANA
%~HEREAS, Mr. J. Ogden Markel has, for the four years last
passed, served as a Councilman of the City of Santa Arm, California,
and in such capacity has wonthe respect and friendship of the Coun-
cilmen with whom he worked, of the employees of the City, and of the
citizens of Santa Ana who keep informed on the functioning of munici-
pal government in this City; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Markel, during his years of service as a Council-
man and Vice Mayor of the City, nas always evidenced an industry,
interest, and dedication to his position by personally investigating
many of the matters coming before the Council, to better inform him-
self, and has always maintained a willingness to discuss and consider
matters pending before the City Council, and has given to each his
individual consideration;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the members of the City
Council express to J. Ogden Markel their appreciation for the priv-
ilege of having been allowed to work with him during the past four
years, the appreciation of the informed citizens of the co~uunity
for his contributions to good government, and their recognition of
his honesty, integrity, and loyalty to his oath of office, and to
his obligation to the people of Santa Ana during his tenure as a
Councilman and Vice Mayor of the City of Santa Ana, California.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the unanimous vote of the City Council
of the City of' Santa Aha at its adjourned regular meeting held on
the l~th day of April,
