ANNEXATION OF TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, DESIGNA-
TING AN APPROPRIATE NAME OF "TUSTIN AND FOURTH EAST ANNEX"
AND GIVING NOTICE OF TIME AND PLACE 0FHEARIN~ PROTESTS THERETO
WHEREAS, at the request of property owners in the territory
hereinbelow described, a description and map of said territory
was presented to the Santa Ana Planning Commission and said Com-
mission has approved the annexation of said territory and the
Boundary Commission of Orange County has approved said description
as being reasonably definite and certain;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the
City of Santa Aha hereby initiates proceedings for the annexation
of the real property herein described to said City for the follow-
ing reasons:
1. That the area can best be served by the City of Santa Aha
with municipal services of the highest caliber anywhere obtainable.
2. That said territor~y would receive the greatest economic
benefit by becoming a part of the City of Santa Ans.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the City Council hereby declares
its intention to annex all of the territory hereinbelow described
under the provisions of ~e Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act
of 1939 and hereby finds and declares that said territory is unin-
habited within the meaning of Government Code Section 35303 on the
date of the adoption of this Resolution; that said territory is
contiguous to the City of Santa Ana, lies in the County of Orange,
State of California and is described as:
Begira$.ing at the intersection of the East line of Tumtin Ave-
nue (60.00 feet wide) with the Easterly extension of the Scuts
line of Fourth Street (60.00 feet wide), said intersection being
an angle point in the City boundary of the City of Santa Aha,
California, and running thence Southerly along the East line
of said Tustin Avenue to its intersection with the North boun-
dary line of the City of Tustin, California, said point of in-
tersection being 540.00 feet Northerly, measured at right angles
from the center line of First Street; thence Easterly along said
City boundary of Tustin to its intersection with the Southerly
extension of the West line of the East l0 acres of Lot 1, Fel-
ipe Yorba Tract as shown on a map thereof recorded in Book 4,
page 206, Miscellaneous Records of Los Angeles County, California;
thence Northerly departing from Tustin City boundary, along
said Southerly extension of the West line of the East 10 acres
of Lot 1 to the South line of said Lot 1; thence South 89° 22'
45" East along said South line of Lot 1, 200.97 feet; thence
North 6° 21' 22" East 175.67 feet; thence North 4° 55' 27" East
580.04 feet to the North llne of said Lot 1; thence Easterly
along said North line of Lot 1 to the West line of Yorba Street,
(40.00 feet wide) as shown on a map of the ~omas Yor~a Tract
recorded in Book 1, page 33 of Records of Sur~eys in the office
of the Orange County Recorder, California; thence Northerly along
the West line of said 40~.00 foot street and its extensions to a
line parallel with and 52.00 feet Southerly, measured at right
angles from the center line of Seventeenth Street; thence West-
erly along said parallel line to the City boundary of the City of
Santa Aha, said City boundary being the East line of the West
half of Lot No. 5 of said Felipe Yorba Tract; thence Southerly
along said East line and along said City boundary to the South
line of said Lot No. 5 and to an angle point in said City boun-
dary; thence Westerly along said South line of Lot No. 5 and
along said City boundary to the East line of Tustin Avenue and
to an angle point in said City boundary; thence Southerly along
said East line of Tustin Avenue and along said City boundary
to the point of beginning.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That "~USTIN AND FOURTH EAST ANNEX"
is hereby designated as an appropriate name for said territory for
the purpose of this annexation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN: That
July 6, 1959 at the hour of 7:30 P. M. in the Council Chambers,
City Hall, Third and Main Streets, Santa Ana, California, is the
time and place fixed at which said Council will hear p~oCests against
this annexation made by any person owning real property within said
territory. At any time before said hour any owner of said territory
may file written protest against this proposed annexation. Such
protest must state the owner's mame and the description and area of
the property owned by him in general terms.
