OF S~.TZER, SUGAR, AND FAIRVIEW AVENUES, AND CLINTON
AND EELLO~GSTRRW. TS NEAR THE EAST BANK OF ~HE SANTA ANA RIVER
WHEREAS, heretofore on August 3, 1959, the City Council adopted
Resolution No. 59-208, declaring its intention to vacate those portions
of certain streets and avenues hereinbelow described, which said Reso-
lution was published and posted as required by law; and
WHEREAS, public hearing was duly held on the lSth day of Febru-
ary, 1959, upon due notice in said Resolution, and said posted notices
contained.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the
City of Santa Ana hereby finds from all the evidence submitted that
the portions of streets he reinbelow described are unnecessary for
present or prospective street purposes.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the City Council hereby makes
its o~der vacating and abandoning for street purposes all of those
portions of streets in the City of Santa Ana, County of Orange, State
of Califomia, described as:
That portion of Smeltzer Avenue described as follows:
That portion of Smeltzer Avenue bour~ed easterly by the west-
erly line of the Rsncho Santiago de Sm~ta Ana; and bounded
westerly by the easterly right-of-way line of the former New-
bert Protection District right-of-way for the channel of the
Santa Ana River; the center line of said Smeltzer Avenue being
on the South line of Section 15, Township 5 South, Range l0
West, San Bernardino Base and Meridian.
That portion of Sugar Avenue described as follows:
That portion of Sugar Avenue bounded easterly by the westerly
line of the Rancho S~tiago de Santa Ana; and bounded westerly
by the easterly right-of-way line of the former Newbert Pro-
tection District right-of-way for the channel of the Santa Ana
River; the center line of said Sugar Avenue being on the south
line of the north half of Section 15, Township 5 South, Range
10 West, San Bernardino Base and Meridian.
That ~ortion of FaZ~vi~w Avenue described as follows:
Ooww, encing at the intersection of the center line of Fair-
view Avenue with the center line of Kello~Street as shown on
a map of a re-plat of Santa Ana Acres recorded in Book 5, Page
8, Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange County, California,
and r~nning thence South 0° ~7' 20" East along the southerly
extension~of said center line of Kello~gStreet 30.00 feet to
a point on the south line of said Fair view Avenue; thence South
89° 22, 28" West along said south line 359.20 feet to the true
point of beginning; thence westerly along the arc of a tangent
curve concave northerly having a radius of 1,042.00 feet to
the westerly line of said Fatrview Avenue as shown on said
map; thence southeasterly along said west line to said south
line of Fairview Avenue; thence North 89° 22' 28" East along
said south line 313.92 feet more or less to the true point
of beginning.
That portion ef Clinton Avenue described as follows:
That portion of Clinton Avenue bounded southerly by the
north line of Edinger Street; and bounded northerly by the
easterly right-of-way line of the former Newbert Protection
District right-of-way for the channel of the Santa Aha River;
the center line of said Clinton Avenue being on the east line
of the west half of Sections 15 and 22, in Township 5 South,
Range l0 West, San Bernardlno Base and Meridian.
That portion of Kellogg Street described as follows:
Corm~encing at the intersection of the center line of Fairview
Avenue with the center line of Kellogg Street as shown on a
map of a re-plat of Santa Aha Acres recorded in Book 5, Page
8, Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange County, California,
and running thence North 0° 47' 2o. West along said center
line of Kellogg Street 54.00 feet;~ thence South 89° 22' 28"
West 30.00 feet to the true point of beginning being a point
on the west line of Kellogg Street; thence North 0o 47' 20"
West along said west line to the north line of said Kellogg
Street as shown on said map; thence easterly along said north
line 34.10 feet; thence South 0° 47' 2o" East 930.25 feet;
thence South 2° 04' 25" West 140.17 feet; thence South 0° 47'
20" East 145.08 feet to the beginning of a tangent curve con-
cave northwesterly having a radius of 25.00 feet; thence
southerly and westerly alonK the arc of said cur~e through a
central angle of 900 09' 48~ an arc distance of 39-34 feet
to a tangent line; thence South 89° 22, 28" West along said
tangent line 2.03 feet to the true point of beginning.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Ana at its regular meeting held on the 8th day of .September , 1959.
