ORANGE COUNTY S~---~0N DISTRICTS ALLOWING SANTA ANA TO
AUTHORIZE SAID DISTRICTS TO HAVE CERTAIN AREAS PAVED AT
CITY EXPENSE
WHERFAS, heretefore the Orange County Sanitation Districts
published notice inviting bids, publicly opened bids submitted, and
awarded a bid to Vido Artukovich & Son, Inc. as the lowest and best
bidder, this work being for the placing of a tx~n~ sewer in Newhope
Street, and certain paving on said Street; and
WHEREAS, while tais paving is being done the City desires
certain additional work w~tch, after negotiation, the Orange County
Sanitation Districts and said contractor have agreed to include under
said Districts' contract, at fixed unit prices; and
WHEREAS, the Santa Ana Department of Public Works has recom-
mended that the unit prices for paving and placing U. R. B. are
advantagous to the City and that City can obtain a better price by
Joining in the larger overall contract t~an by having a small amount
of work done by a different contractor nmtpresently located, and
working on Newhope Street, or in the area.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the
City of Santa Ana hereby approves the details of the negotiation
and agreement between said City and the Orsnge County Sanitation
Districts, and Vido Artukovic~ & Son, Inc., whereby said Sanitation
Districts are to authorize said contractor as an extra addition to
his contract to do certain work which is not presently required as
an extra for and at the request of the City of Santa Ana at the
unit prices of:
3" PNS -- ~0.13/ square feet
6" URB = ~0.14/ square feet
TOTAL COST OF PAVING $0.27/ square feet
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the City of Santa Aha hereby
joins with said Orange County Sanitation Districts for the accom-
plishment of the work of the extras required by t~e City, and
agrees to pay to said Orange County Sanitation Districts an amount
not to exceed $27,000.00, w~ich said amount is to be computed on
the basis of the above unit prices for work done at the request
of and authorized by the City of S~ta Ans. Said O~ange County
Sanitation Districts by the acceptance of and carrying out of the
agreement with the City of Santa Aha for the doing of said work,
agree to pay such sum or s~m~s as are received from the City of
Santa Aha under and by virtue of said agreement, and as expressed
in this Resolution, due Vido Artukovich & Son, Inc. for said work.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Aha at its regular meeting held on the 7th day of December, 1959.
