RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA ANA REQUESTING THE CO~TY OF ORANGE
TO INCLUDE WITHIN THE ARTERIAL HIGHWAY
FINANCING PROGRAM THE DE1FELOPME~T OF
BOLSA AV~OE.
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Aha desires to improve Bolsa Avenue
Harbor Boulevar~ to 600! West of Ma~i.n~e S~9~, and
WHEREAS, Bolsa Avenue is an important artery in the County of Orange and
of general Comity interest, and
WHEREAS, Article 2 and Article 3, Chapter 9, Division 2 of the Streets and
Highways Code authorizes a County, if it so desires, to expend fronds apportioned
to it out of the Califon~ia Highway Users Tax Frond for aid to any City in the
improvement, construction or repair of a street within a City, and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors intends to, ~y appropriate action, provide
in the County budget of the Special Road Improvement Fund for the Fiscal Year
1960-61 a sum of money for the improvement of streets within the incorporated
cities of the County in accordance with the Orange County Arterial Highway
Financing Program.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT P~OLVED that the Council of the City of Santa Aha
hereby requests the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange to allocate
to said City from County Fends the amount of $63,000.00, said amount to be
matched by ~mnds from said City, to be used to aid said City in the i~provement
of Bolsa Avenue from Harbor Boulevard to 600~ west of Maxine Street, and for the
acquisition of necessary rights of way$ said improvements and acquisition of
rights of way to be in accordance with the attached project statement;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange
is hereby requested to find that said work and acquisition of rights of way on
Bolsa Avenue, in the manner provided, is in the general County interest.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, by this Resolution, the City of Santa Aha
agrees with the basic concepts of the Arterial Highways Financing Program; and
furhter agrees that its share of the cost of improvements and rights of way will
be available for the fiscal year 1960-61.
