SANTA ANA REQUESTING THE COUNTY OF ORANGE
TO INCLUDE WITHIN THE A~i'~J~L HIGHWAY
FINANCING PROGRAM THE DEVELOPMENT OF
EDINGER STREET.
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Aha desires to improve Edinger Street f~r~o?~
Ri_ ve_r to_ _ and
WHEREAS, Edinger Street is an i~portant artery in the County of Orange
and of general County interest, and
WHEREAS, Article 2 and Article 3, Chapter 9, Division 2 of the Streets and
Highways Code authorizes a County, if it so desires, to expend funds apportioned
to it cst of the California Highway Users Tax Fund for aid to any City in the
improvement, construction or repair of a street within a City, and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors intends to, by appropriate action provide
in the County budget of the Special Road Improvement l~And for the Fiscal Year
1960-61 a sum of money for the improvement of streets within the incorporated
cities of the County in accordance with the Orange County Arterial Highway
Financing Program.
NOW THEREFOHE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Santa Ana
hereby requests the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange to allocate to
said City from County Funds the amount of $66,500.00, said amount to be matched
by funds from said City, to be u~ed to aid said City in the i~provement of
Edinger Street from Santa Aha River to Canter Street, and for the acquisition of
necessary rights of way; said improvements and acquisition of rights of way to
be in accordance with the attached project statement;
~ IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange
is hereby requested to find that said work and acquisition of rights of way on
Edinger Street, in the manner provided, is in the general County interest.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, by this Resolution, the City of Santa Ana agrees
with the basic concepts of the Arterial Highways Financing Progress and further
agrees that its share of the cost of improvememts and rights of way will be
available for the fiscal year 1960-61.
