RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA AMA REQUESTING THE COUNTY OF ORANGE
TO INCLUDE WITHIN THE ARTERIAL HIGHWAY
FINANCING PROGRAM THE D~LOP~ENT OF
WHEREA~, the City of Santa Aha desires to i~prove Grand Avenue
McFadden Avenue to Delhi Road~ and
%4HEREAS, Grand Avenue is an i~portant artery in the County of Orange and
of general County intereste and
WHEREAS, Article 2 and Article 3, Chapter 9, Division 2 of the Streets and
Highways Code authorizes a County, if it so desires, to expend funds apportioned
to it out of the California Highway Users Tax Fund for aid to any City in the
emprovement, construction or repair of a street within a City, and
WHEREAS, the Board of Smpervisors intends to, by appropriate action, provide
in the County budget of the Special Road Improvement Fund for the Fiscal Year
1960-61 a sm~ of money for the improvement of streets within the incorporated
cities of the County in accordance with the Orange County Arterial Highway
Financing Program.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RE~OLVED that the Council of the City of Santa Aha
hereby requests the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange to allocate
to said City from County Funds the amount of $ 38,500e00, said a~ount to be
matched by funds from said City, to be used to aid said City in the improvements
of Grand Avemue frc~ McFadde~ Avenne to Delhi Road, and for the acquisition of
necessary rights of way~ said improvements and acquisition of rights of way to
be in accordance with the attached project state~entl
BE IT FURTHER RESOLv~u that the Board of Supervisors of the County of
Orange is hereby requested to find that said work and acquisition of rights of
way on Grand Avenve. in the ~anner provided, is in the general County interest.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLV~ that, by this Resolution, the City of Santa Ana
agrees with the basic concepts of the Arterial Highways Financing Program~ and
furhter agrees that its share of the cost of improvements and rights of way will
be available for the fiscal year 1960-61.
