RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA ANA REQUESTING THE COUNTY OF ORANGE TO
INCLUDE WITHIN THE ARTERIAL HIGHWAY FINANCING
PROGRAM THE D~V~LOPMENT OF SEGERSTROM AVENUE.
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana desires to i~prove Segeretrom Avenue from
Harbor Boulevard to Greenvill~ st~e~, and
WHEREAS, SegerstromAvanue is an important artery in the County of Orange
and of general County interest, and
WHEP~AS, Article 2 and Article 3, Chapter 9, Division 2 of the Streets and
Highways Code authorizes a County, ~f it so desires, to expend funds apportioned
to it out of the California Highway Users TaxVund for aid to any City in the
improvement, construction or repair of a Street within a City, and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors intends to, by appropriate action, provide
in the County budgeS of the Special Road I~provement Fund for the Fiscal Year
1960-61 a sum of money for the improvement of streets within the incorporated
cities of the County in accordance with the Orange County Arterial Highway
Financing Programe
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Santa Arm
hereby requests the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange to allocate to
said City frc~County Funds the amount of $28,000.00, said amount to be matched
by funds from said City. to be used to aid said City in the improvement of
Segerstrom Avenue from Harbor Boulevard to Greenville Street, and for the
acquisition of necessary rights of way; said improvements and acquisition of
rights of way to be in accordance with the attached project statement;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of
Orange is hereby requested to find that said work and acquisition of rights of
way on Segerstrom Avenue, in the manner provided, is in the general County
interest.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, by this Resolution, the City of Santa Aha
agrees with the basic concepts of the Arterial Highways FinanCing Program; and
furhter agrees that its share of the cost of improvements and rights of way will
be available for the fiscal year 1960-61.

meeting held on the 21st
