"MAC ARTHUR BOULEVARD" AS IT EXISTS IN THE
CITY OF SANTA ANA TO "TALBERT AVENUE"
WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works and the Planning
Commission have recommended that the name of MacArthur Boulevard
in Santa Ana, California, be changed to Talbert Avenue, and the
City Council studied said recommended name change and has fouDd
that MacArthur Boulevard has traditionally existed as a north and
south street connecting South Main Street southerly to the Coast
Highway; that because of recent radical realignment of the northerly
portion of MacArthur Boulevard it now has been extended into
Santa Aha across Newport Avenue to Main Street and is in alignment
with Talbert Avenue across the southerly part of the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the portion of street
heretofore known as "MAC ARTHUR BOULEVARD", as it now exists in the
City of Santa Aha between Newport Avenue and Main Street, is hereby
changed in name and shall hereafter be known as "TALBERT AVENUE" to
avoid confusion on the part of the public and emergency services.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Aha at its regular meeting held on the 2nd day of November, 1964.
