THE PLANNING COFLMISSION AND GRANTING A VA~qIANCE
ON APPLICATION NO. 2017 FILED BY THE MEREDITH
COMPANY
WHEREAS, after public hearing on notice, the Planning
Commission has DENIED a variance on Variance Application No. 2017,
filed by THE MEREDITH COMPANY, and Appeal Application No. 144 was
duly filed by the applicant presenting the matter to the City
Council; and
WHEREAS, the City Council, after public hearing, has
determined that all of the statute and ordinance requirements for
the granting of a variance have been adequately met and that said
Variance should be granted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council does
hereby overrule the decision of the Planning Commission and does
hereby grant a variance on Variance Application 2017, filed by THE
MEREDITH COMPANY, to eliminate the required fences except around
the rear yard and to allow balconies and covered patios to be
constructed at the applicant's option and not be considered as
open space for Tract 4000 located south of Santa Clara Avenue,
between Wright Street and Tustin Avenue. Said Variance is granted
subject to the condition that all of the conditions and requirements
of Tentative Tract 4000 be complied with.
PASSED AND ADOPTEDby the City Council of the City of Santa
Ana at its regular meeting held on the 16th day of November, 1964.
