CITY OF SANTA ANA URGING SUPPORr£ FOR LEGISLATION
TO AFFORD MORE EFFECTIVE CONTROL OF OBSCENE
MATTER
WHEREAS, there has been a continuing increase in the avail-
ability of obscene matter appealing to the prurient interest of
viewer or reader, and control of such matter has been almost
impossible; and
WHEREAS, this City Council believes that the rapid increase
of this material is contrary to the public interest.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of
the City of Santa Ana petitions the State Legislature to adopt
legislation to control the production, distribution, display, and
sale of obscene matter in the State of California and to support
any legislation that can be reasonably expected to accomplish these
ends.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Ana at its regular meeting held on the 3rd day of May, 1965.
