HomeMy WebLinkAbout65-104RESOLUTION 65-104 GRANTING APPROVAL FOR THE DESTRUCTION OF CERTAIN CITY RECORDS WHEREAS, the Clerk of the Council has custody of certain records, all of which were created prior to 1940, and has requested permission to destroy the same; and WHEREAS, the City Attorney has rendered his opinion that there is no need for the retention of said records and has given his written consent to the destruction thereof; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That those certain records in the custody of the Clerk of the Council which were created prior to 1940 and which are described as follows: DEMANDS AND WARRANTS DRAWN (check registers) REGISTER OF RECEIPTS AND DISBURSemENTS TOWN ACCOUNTS CITY ACCOUNTS REGISTER OF LICENSES BOND REGISTER MARSHALL'S ACCOUNT TREASURER'S ACCOUNTS are hereby declared to be unnecessary for retention in the office of the Clerk , and this City Council hereby gives its approval for the destruction of said records. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That said records shall be sur- rendered by the Clerk of the Council to the curator of the Bowers Museum for determination by him as to whether or not said records may have historical source material value and should be retained by said Museum, and he is authorized for and on behalf of the Clerk of the Council to destroy any or all of said records which, in his opinion, do not have such value. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana at its regular meeting held on the 6th day of July, 1965.
