SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA
The City Council of the City of Santa Ama,
in regular session assembled this 2nd day of August,
hereby resolve and detemine as follows:

SECTION 1: That it is the intention of said City Council,
after acquiring jurisdiction so to do pursuant to the provisions of
Article XIII, Section 17 of the Constitution and Division 4 of the
Streets and Highways Code of the State of California~ and Sections
7230 to 7233, inclusive, of the Santa Aha Municipal Code, to order
the following work to be done or improvements to be made in said
City of Santa Aha, California, to wit:
The construction and installation of an eight inch extra
strength vitrified clay pipe sewer line, with four inch extra
strength vitrified clay pipe sewer laterals, and including standard
manholes, rock bedding as required, trenching, backfilling, pave-
ment replacement, and appurtenances and appurtenant work, in the
following public streets within said City of Santa Aha:
1. N~WHOPE STREET.
In Newhope Street from the existing manhole of the Orange
County Sanitation District located in the cu~aaon intersection of
Newhope Street and Edinger Avenue; thence Easterly in said inter-
section eight feet to a manhole to be constructed; thence Northerly
from said intersection parallel and eight feet Easterly from the
center line of Newhope Street to a manhole to be constructed in the
co,~on intersection of Newhope Street and Regent Drive, five feet
South of the center line of Regent Drive.
2. R~G~NT DRIVE.
In Regent Drive from a manhole to be constructed in the
c~on intersection of Newhope Street and Regent Drive eight feet

East of the center line of Newhope Street and five feet South of
the center line of Regent Drive to a manhole to be constructed in
the common intersection of Regent Drive and Elliott Place 1271.28
feet distant from the intersection of the center lines of Newhope
Street and Regent Drive; also, in the first cul de sac of Regent
Drive Southerly from its intersection with Newhope Street from a
manhole to be constructed in the c~on intersection of Regent
Drive and said cul de sac, 616.04 feet distant from the inter-
sections of the center lines of Newhope Street and Regent Drive to
a manhole to be constructed in said cul de sac 110 feet Southwesterly
thereof; also, in the second cul de sac of Regent Drive South-
easterly from its intersection with Newhope Street from a manhole
to be constructed at a point in the common intersection of Regent
Drive and said cul de sac, 1271.28 feet distant from the inter-
section of the center lines of Newhope Street and Regent Drive to
a manhole to be constructed in said cul de sac 115 feet Southeasterly
thereof.
3. ELLIOTT PLACE.
In Elliott Place from a manhole to be constructed in the
common intersection of Elliott Place and Regent Drive 1271.28 feet
distant from the intersection of the center lines of Newhope Street
and Regent Drive to a manhole to be constructed in Elliott Place
2172.07 feet distant from the intersection of said center
of Newhope Street and Regent Drive; also, in the first cul de sac
of Elliott Place from a manhole to be constructed at a point in the
common intersection of Elliott Place and said cul de sac 1954.14
feet distant from the intersection of the center lines of Newhope
Street and Regent Drive to a manhole to be constructed in said
cul de sac 105 feet Northeasterly thereof.

4. GATgS STREET.
In Gates Street fr~ a manhole to be constructed in its
c,m~mon intersection with Regent Drive five feet South of the center
line of Regent Drive to a manhole to be constructed in Gates Street
632 feet Northerly thereof.
S~-CTION 2: Ail of the above mantiommd work, including
the grade to which said work shall be done and the location thereof
in and upon the streets and rights of way above mentiommd, shall
be done upon the grades, along the lines, between the points, of
the dimensions, at the places and in the manner described and set
forth in the plans, profiles and detailed drawings of said work,
and to specifications for said work heretofore adopted by said
City Council on August 2, 1965 by its Resolution No. 65-11T ,
which plans, profiles, detailed drawings and specifications are on
file in the office of the Director of Public Works and which are
hereby referred to for a more particular description of said work,
grade of said work, and location of said work in and along the
streets and rights of way hereinbefore mentioned; and which plans,
profiles, detailed drawings and specifications are hereby incorporated
herein and made part hereof by reference as though set forth fully
herein.
SECTION 3: That said contemplated work and improvements,
in the opinion of said City Council, is of more than local or ordinary
public benefit, and that the expenses and cost of said work and im-
provemmnts shall be chargeable upon a district, which said district
said City Council hereby declares to be the district benefited by
the work and improvements herein described and to be assessed to
pay the cost and expenses thereof; said district shall include that
territory in said City of Santa Aha which is shown upon that certain
plat or map thereof on file in the office of the Clerk of the Council
of said City of Santa Aha, entitled "DIAGRAM OF ASSESSMENT DISTRICT

NO. 229," and which said map or plat indicates by a boundary line
the extent of the territory included in the proposed district and
covers all details as to the extent of the area to be assessed;
said map or plat is hereby incorporated herein and made a part
hereof by reference as though set forth fully herein.
SECTION 4: NOTICg IS H~R~BY GIVEN that serial bonds shall
be issued in the manner and form provided in Part 5, Division 7 of
the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, the
Improvement Act of 1911, to represent unpaid assessments of Fifty
Dollars ($50.00) or over, which said bonds shall bear interest at
the rate of six (67°) percent per annum and tb~ last installment of
which bonds shall mature nine (9) years from the second day of
January next succeeding the first day of September following their
date.
SECTION 5: NOTICe. IS H~R~BY FURTHER GIVEN that on
Tuesday, the 7th day of September, 1965 at the hour of 7:30 o'clock
P.M. of said day, in the council chambers in the City Hall in said
City of Santa Aha, the meeting place of said City Council, any and
all persons having any objections to the proposed work or improve-
ments, or any objections to the grades to which said work is to
be done, or any objections to the boundaries of the district pro-
posed to be assessed to pay the cost and expenses of said work and
improvements may appear before said City Council and show why said
proposed work or improvements should not be carried out in accord-
ance with this resolution of intention, and may present written
protests in the form and manner required by law not later than the
hour hereinabove set for hearing objections against the doing of
said work, the grades to which said work is to be done, or the
extent of the territory to be assessed to pay the cost and expenses
thereof.
SECTION 6: NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that a public

hearing will be held by said City Council pursuant to the provisions
of Article XIII, Section 17, of the Constitution, and Division 4 of
the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, Sections
7230 to 7233, inclusive, of the Santa Arm Municipal Code, and
Resolution No. 65-118 of this City Council adopted August 2, 1965,
for the purpose of finding and determining whether the public
convenience and necessity require the aforesaid work and improvement.
Said public hearing shall be held concurrently and combined with the
protest hearing provided for in Section 5 of this Resolution of
Intention at 7:30 o'clock P.M. on Tuesday, September 7, 1965, or as
soon thereafter as said public hearing can be held, in the council
chambers in the City Hall in said City of Santa Aha, California, at
which time any person desiring may appear and be heard.
SECTION 7: The Clerk of the Council of said City of Santa
Aha shall cause this Resolution of Intention to be published twice
in the SANTA ANAREGISTER, a newspaper of general circulation,
published and circulated in said City of Santa Aha, which said news-
paper has heretofore been designated by said City Council as the
newspaper in which shall be printed and published all notices,
resolutions, orders and other matters required to be published in
the proceedings to be taken pursuant to this resolution and under
the provisions of the Improvement Act of 1911; the first publica-
tion of said notice shall be not less than ten (10) days prior to
the date herein fixed for the public hearing fixed by this Resolution
of Intention.
SECTION 8: The Superir~endent of Streets of said City of
Santa Aha shall cause to be conspicuously posted along the line of
said contemplated work and improvements, and on all the open streets
within the assessment district, notice of the passage of this
Resolution of Intention in the time, form and manner required by
law.

SECTION 9: The Clerk of the Council of said City of
Santa Aha is hereby directed to mail notices of the adoption of
this Resolution of Intention, postage prepaid, to all persons
owning real property proposed to be assessed to pay any part of the
cost of said work, whose names and addresses appear on the last
equalized assessment roll for real property taxes, or as known to
said Clerk. Said mailing is to be completed at least fifteen (15)
days prior to the day herein fixed for the public hearing on this
Resolution of Intention, all in the time, form and manner prescribed
in said Improvement Act of 1911.
SECTION 10: NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that the
grades to which said work is to be done are, or may be in part,
new and different from those heretofore established, or may be and
in some cases are, different from existing ground levels.
SECTION 11: The total estimated cost of said work and
improvements, including estimated incidental costs, is in the amount
of $76,908.84.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Santa Aha at its regular meeting held on the 2nd day of August, 1965.
