HomeMy WebLinkAbout65-125RESOLUTION 65-125 AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF RIGHT OF WAY CONTRACT AND GRANT DEED CONVEYING PROPERTY IN THE CIVIC CENTER AREA TO THE COUNTY OF ORANGE WHEREAS, the County of Orange, a political subdivision, and the City of Santa Ana, a municipal corporation, entered into an agreement, designated by Project No. G.A. 401 - Civic Center Parcel No. 196, Court House Site, which said agreement was dated October 7, 1964, and which said agreement provided for transfer of certain real property by grant to the County of Orange, in fee simple title, for the construction thereon by the County of Orange of a new court house building containing a minimum of 400,000 gross square feet, for the acquisition of certain other property for the expansion and enlargement of the new civic center in Santa Ana, California, and providing for other related matters; and WHEREAS, in the furtherance of said agreement a right of way contract expressing the major terms of said agreement, referring to said original agreement dated October 7, 1964, and carrying into effect the agreement of the parties, has been prepared and presented to the City Council for execution; and WHEREAS, a grant deed to catty, into effect said agreement has been prepared for execution by the City of Santa Ana. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HESOLVED: That the Right of Way Contract, designated Project No: G. A. 401; Project: Civic Center; Parcel No: 196, is hereby approved, and the Mayor and the Clerk of the Council are directed to execute the same for and on behalf of the City of Santa Ana; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That that certain grant deed,whereon the City of Santa Ana is grantor and the County of Orange is grantee, to convey property described as: Ail that certain land situated in the City of Santa Ana, County of Orange, State of california, as shown on a map filed in Book 75, page 48, of Record of Surveys, in the office of the County Recorder of said Orange County, described as follows: Beginning at the intersection of the north right of way line of Sixth Street as shown on said Record of Survey, with a line which is parallel with and distant 53.00 feet Easterly from the center line of Flower Street, said center line is shown on said Record of Survey as having a bearing of N. 1° 00' 31" E.; thence from said intersection N. 1° 00' 31" E. 562.46 feet to the beginning of a tangent curve, concave Southeasterly and having a radius of 25.00 feet; thence Northeasterly 38.86 feet along said curve through a central angle of 89° 03' 10" to a tangent line, said tangent line being parallel with and 56.00 feet Southerly of the center line of Eighth Street as shown on said Record of Survey; thence along said tangent line S. 89° 56' 19" E. 561.17 feet to an intersection with the west line of Ford's Addition as shown on a map recorded in Book 25, page 62, of Miscellaneous Records of Los Angeles County; thence South 586.10 feet along said west line to an intersection with said north right of way line of Sixth Street; thence S. 89° 58' 43" W. 596.08 feet, more or less, along said right of way line to the point of beginning, is hereby approved, and the Mayor and the Clerk of the Council are hereby authorized and directed to execute the same for and on behalf -1- of the City of Santa Aha, and the Clerk of the Council is directed to deliver two executed copies of the Right of Way Contract and the executed deed to Stanley E. Krause, Director of the Department of Real Property Services of the County of Orange.
