DECLARING SUPPORT FOR
LOWER COLORADO RIVER
BASIN PROJECT ACT
WHEREAS, bills have been introduced in Congress
which it is hoped will finally terminate any rivalry over
Colorado River water; and
WHEREAS, the enactment of the Lower Colorado
River Basin Project Act will provide for development,
conservation and utilization of water in the Lower Colorado
River Basin will create vast new recreational areas for the
rapidly increasing population of the Southwestern states and
will all°w an early start by way of study on importation of
water to the Colorado River Basin.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City
Council of the City of santa Ana, California hereby expresses
its support for the Lower Colorado River Basin Project Act
and urges upon all members of the Congress of the United States
support for and a favorable vote on the bills to adopt said
act.
PASSED ANDADOPTEDby the City Council of the City of
Santa Ana at its regular meeting held on the 7th day of September,
1965.
