HomeMy WebLinkAbout65-194RESOLUTION 65-194 ACKNOWLEDGING RECEIPT OF PETITION FOR THE ANNEXATION OF TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, DESIGNATING AN APPROPRIATE NAME FOR SAID TERRITORY OF "GLASSELL AND FAIP. HAVEN NORTHEAST ANNEX", AND GIVING NOTICE OF PROTEST HEARING THEREON WHEREAS, heretofore the Local Agency Formation Commission of Orange County approved the description of territory hereinbelow con- tained and the annexation of said territory to the City of Santa Aha, California, and the Planning Commission of the City of Santa Ana has approved Said annexation. A petition requesting annexation of said territory, signed by the owners of all of said territory, has been presented to this City Council. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby declares its intention to annex all of said territory under the provisions Of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939; hereby finds and declares that all of the own~s of said territory have petitioned for annexation to the City of ~ Santa Ana; that said territory is uninhabited within the meaning of Government Code ~35303 on the date of the adoption of this Resolution; that said territory is contiguous to the City of Santa Ana, lies in the County of Orange, State of California, and is described as: Beginning at the intersection of the center lines of Glassell Street and Fairhaven Avenue, said intersection being the Southwesterly corner of Lot 13, Block D of the A. B. Chapman Tract, as surveyed by Frank Lecouvreur in 1870 as shown on a map recorded in Book 102, page 15, of Miscellaneous Maps, records of Orange County, State of California; thence North 1° 00' 08" East along the center line of Glassell Street, 580.62 feet to the Southerly line of Parcel 1 of that land conveyed to the State of California by deed recorded in Book 7050, page 387 of Official Records, records of Orange County, California; thence, at right angles to said center line of Glassell Street, South 88° 59' 52" East, 51.33 feet, along said Southerly line to the Easterly line of Glassell Street; thence continuing along said Southerly line North 79° 32' 22" East 64.44 feet; thence South 84° 35' 38" East, 381.76 feet to the Westerly line of the Easterly 25 acres of said Lot 13; thence leaving said Southerly line of that certain parcel of land conveyed to the State of California, South 1° 00' 08" West along the said Westerly line of the Easterly 25 acres, 594.14 feet, to a point on the South line of Fairhaven Avenue, said point being on the City Boundary of the City of Santa Ana as annexed by the Fairhaven and Glassell Southeast Annex; NS-735; thence North 88° 59' 38" West along the South line of Fairhaven Avenue and along the City Boundary of the City of Santa Ana, 579.62 feet to an angle point in said City Boundary of the City of Santa Ana; thence leaving said City Boundary North 1° 00' 08" East, 30.00 feet to the center line of Fairhaven Avenue; thence South 88° 59' 38" East along the center line of Fairhaven Avenue, 84.50 feet to the intersection of the center lines of Fairhaven Avenue and Glassell Street and to thepoint of beginning. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That "GLASSELL AND FAIRHAVEN NORTHEAST ANNEX" is hereby designated as an appropriate name by which said territory shall be known for~he purpose of this annexation. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: k~at notice is hereby given that January 17, 1966, at the hour of 7:30 P.M. in the Council Chambers, City Hall, Third and Main Streets, Santa Ana, California, is the time and place fixed at which said Council will hear protests against this annexation made by any owner of property within the City of Santa Ana who does not own property in the territory to be annexed, all as provided for in ~35310.1 of the Government Code of the State of California. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana at its regular meeting held on the 20th day of December, 1965.
