HomeMy WebLinkAbout65-195RESOLUTION 65-195 AUTHORIZING LEASE OF HOUSE TO TORANA ART LEAGUE AFTER ITS INCORPORATION WHEREAS, the TORANA ART LEAGUE is an organization the purpose of which is, without profit to itself, to further public interest and the interest of its members in the fine arts and to develop greater opportunity for the viewing and study of painting, sculpture and the allied arts; and WHEREAS, the TORANA ART LEAGUE has furthered its purpose by participating in the activities of Bowers Museum in the past and has voiced its intention to continue to do so in the future, all to the benefit of the residents of the City of Santa Ana and of the County of Orange; and WHEREAS, the TORANA ART LEAGUE has begun proceedings to incorporate in the State of California as a non-profit corporation. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That, upon incorporation of the TORANA ART LEAGUE, the City of Santa Ana enter into a lease agreement with said corporation, on terms to be approved by the City Council, for the lease of that certain dwelling house, owned by the City of Santa Ana, located at 2024 North Main Street in the City of Santa Ana, California, subject to such terms, conditions, covenants, and restrictions as, within the City ~anager's discretion, will best protect the interests of the City of Santa Ana; provided, however, that said lease shall be restricted by its terms to pemait the use of said leasehold solely and exclusively for the purposes of the TORANA ART LEAGUE as hereinbefore set out in this Resolution.
