HomeMy WebLinkAbout62-029RESOLUTION NO. 62-29 OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA, EXPRESSING OPPOSITION TO ASSEMBLY BILL 2728 WHEREAS, there was introduced Assembly Bill No. 2728 in the 1961 session of the State Legislature which ks now reported to be under study by the Assembly Interim Committee on Municipal and County Government; and WHEREAS, this City Council believes that the undesirable features of the Multipurpose District Act proposed by said Assembly Bill far outweigh any advantages which said Act could afford to the citizens of the State of California. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby expresses its opposition to legislation creating or permitting a multipurpose district as proposed by Assembly Bill No. 2728 and requests the League of Cities and the Orange County representatives in the Legislature to oppose the passage of any such legislation. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED~ %~at this City Council approves the Statement of Principles adopted at the Special Meeting of the League of California Cities regarding the Multipurpose ~istrict Act and directs that a copy of said Statement of Principles be forwarGeu, wiun a copy of this Resolution, to Senator Murdy, Assemblymen Sumner and Hanna, League of California Cities and to Honorable Clark L. Bradley, Chairman of said Interim Committee. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa Aha at its regular meeting held on the 5th day of February, 1962.
