AUTHORIZING CONDEMNATION OF REAL PROPERTY ON THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF THIRD AND BUSH STREETS AND DECLARING THE PUBLIC NECESSITY THEREFOR WHEREAS, the site of the City Hall at Third and Main Streets is completely occupied by building and allows no area for parking or other use, and an additional area should be acquired to provide parking for official cars and to provide other services in connection with the City Hall. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the City of Santa Ana does hereby find and determine that public interest and necessity require that the property lying immediately East of the present City Hall be acquired for use in connection with said City Hall and to accc~unodate present and future demands for area in said location, and further require that the city do have, take and acquire, in fe~ for said purpose that certain land in the City of Santa Ana, County of Orange, State of California, described as: PARCEL 1: That portion of Lot 8 of the Re-Subdivision of Block 7 of the Town of Santa Aha, in the City of Santa Aha, County of Orange, State of California as per map recorded in Book 5, Page 46 of Miscellaneous Maps, in the office of the county recorder of said county, described as follows: Commencing at the Northwest corner of said Lot 8; thence South along the West line of said Lot, 15 feet; thence East parallel with the North line of said Lot, 30 feet; thence North parallel with the West line of said Lot, 15 feet to the North line thereof; thence West along said North line 30 feet to the point of beginning. PARCEL 2: Lot 9 of the Re-Subdivision of Block 7 of the Town of Santa Ana, in the City of Santa Ana, County of Orange, State of California, as per map recorded in Book 5, Page 46 of Miscellaneous Maps, in the office of the County Recorder of said County. PARCEL 3: An easement to be used jointly by the owners of Lots 8 and 9 of the Re-Subdivision of Block 7 of the Town of Santa Aha, in the City of Santa Aha, County of Orange, State of California, as per map recorded in Book 5, Page 46 of Miscellaneous Maps, in the office of the County Recorder of said County, for ingress and egress over and the laying of water, sewer and other pipes and of public utility facilities under that portion of said Lot 8 described as follows: Beginning at the Northeast corner of Parcel 1 above described; thence East along the North line of said Lot 8, 10 feet; thence South along a line parallel with the West line of said Lot 8, 25 feet; thence West along a line parallel with the -1- North line of said Lot 8, 40 feet to the West line of said Lot; thence North along the West line of said Lot, 10 feet to the Southwest corner of Parcel 1 above described; thence East along the South line of said Parcel 1, 30 feet to the Southeast corner of said Parcel 1; thence North along the East line of said Parcel 1, 15 feet to the point of beginning. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the City Attorney be and he is hereby ordered and directed to bring an action in the name of the City of Santa Aha in the Superior Court of the State of California in and for the County of Orange, for condemnation of said property necessary to be taken as herein ordered and heretofore described and do all things necessary to prosecute said action to final determination. BE IT FURTHER REsoLVED: That said action for condemnation shall be taken in accordance with the applicable provisions of the code of Civil Procedure and the Constitution of the State of California. at its ATTEST: CLERK OF THE COUNCIL PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana regular meeting held on the 7th day of May, 1962.
