HomeMy WebLinkAbout62-100RESOLUTION NO. 62-100 DECLARING THAT NO MAJORITY PROTEST HAS BEEN MADE AT THE HEARING ON PROTESTS AGAINST ANNEXATION OF TERRITORY DESIGNATED "SANTA CLARA AND WRIGHT, NORTHWEST ANNEX" WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 62-72 the City Council initiated proceedings to annex territory under the designated name of "SANTA CLARA AND WRIGHT, NORTHWEST ANNEX", and in said Resolution and in mailed notices gave notice of public hearing to be held on May 21, 1962, for the receiving and passing upon protests against said annexation; and WHEREAS, it became apparent that a majority of the members of the City Council would be absent from the City of Santa Ana on May 21, 1962, and mailed notices of said fact were sent to all owners in said territory informing them that the meeting could not be held and would have to be adjourned until June 4, 1962, and on May 21st, 1962, at the hour of said meeting, there being no councilmen present, the Clerk of the Council did declare that since there was no quorum the meeting was adjourned to 7:30 P.M. in the Council Chambers on June 4, 1962. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That after due hearing as required by law, the City Council finds and declares that a majority protest against the annexation initiated by Resolution No. 62-72, under the name of "SANTA CLARA AND WRIGHT, NORTHWEST ANNEX", has not been made. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana at its regular meeting held on the 4th day of June, 1962.
