ANNEX TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AND
DESIGNATING AN APPROPRIATE NAME FOR SAID
TERRITORY OF "SANTA CLARA AND DEODAR S. ANNEX"
WHEREAS, a description and map of territory hereinbelow
described were presented to the Santa Aha Planning Commission, which
approved annexation of said territory, and to the Orange County
Boundary Commission, which caused a report to be prepared and delivered
to the City of Santa Ana finding that the boundaries of said proposed
annexation were reasonably definite and certain; and
WHEREAS, the owner of all of the land and assessed value in
said territory herein proposed to be annexed did, on July 25, 1962,
file a written petition requesting annexation of said territory to
the City of Santa Ana.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the
City of Santa Ana hereby declares its intention to annex all of the
territory hereinbelow described under the provisions of the Annexation
of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939; hereby finds and declares that
said territory is uninhabited within the meaning of Government Code
Section 35303 on the date of the adoption of this Resolution and that
said territory is contiguous to the City of Santa Aha, lies in the
County of Orange, State of Califo~nia, and is described as:
Beginning at a point on the City boundary of the City of
Santa Ana, California, said point being on the North line
of the Tustin and Seventeenth N.E. Annex (Ordinance
No. NS-468) to the City of Santa Aha, said point also
being on the North line of the South half of Lot 12 in
Block "B" of the A. B. Chapman Tract, as surveyed by
Frank LeCouvreur in December, 1870, as shown on a map
of survey filed in Book 9, Page 39, Records of Survey,
County of Orange, in the Office of the County Recorder of
said County, said point being 30 feet West of the West line
of the East half of said Lot 12; thence departing from said
City boundary North 0° 53' 22" East parallel with and 30
feet West measured at right angles from the West line of
the East half of the North half of said Lot 12, a distance
of 635 feet, more or less, to the South line of Santa Clara
Avenue, said South line being parallel with and 25 feet
South, measured at right angles from the North line of said
LOt 12; thence South 88° 57' 07" East 126 feet, more or
less, along said South line, to a point on said South line,
which is 563.46 feet West, measured along said South line,

from the East line of said Lot 12; thence South 1° 02' 53"
West 25 feet; thence South 85° 30' 20" East 249.45 feet;
thence South 82° 39' 05" East 154.94 feet; thence South
85° 58' 36" East 160.88 feet to the East line of said Lot 12
and to the existing boundary of the Marshall Annexation to
the City of Tustin, California; thence South 0° 53' 22"
West 570 feet, more or less, along the East line of said
Lot 12, and along said Tustin City boundary to the North line
of the South half of said Lot 12 to an angle point in said
Marshall Annexation and to said Santa Aha City boundary;
thence departing from said Tustin City boundary North
88° 57' 07" West along said North line of the South half of
Lot 12 and along said Santa Aha City boundary 690 feet,
more or less, to the point of beginning.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That "SANTA CLARA AND DEODAR S. ANNEX"
is hereby designated as an appropriate name by which said territory
shall be known for the purpose of this annexation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That notice is hereby given that
September 17, 1962, at the hour of 7:30 P.M. in the Council Chambers,
City Hall, Third and Main Streets, Santa Aha, California, is the time
and place fixed at which said Council will hear written protests
against this annexation made by any person owning property within said
territory. At any time before said hearing, any owner of real property
within said territory may file written protest against this proposed
annexation. Such protest shall state the name of the owner of the
property affected and the description and area of the property in
general terms, all as provided for in the California Government Code
Section 35312.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Aha at its regular meeting held on the 6th day of August, 1962.
